[Day 9 - Late Afternoon] No Man's land

Timeslots: Late Afternoon

Description: The Republic has laid siege to the Aznuri Temple shattering the defenses with Commander Jace leading the charge. The forces engage in brutal combat with the savages from the blight, predominately a species of large humanoids with vicious teeth and leathery gray to blue skin. Jace has ordered a small squad to track down the leader of these forces and bring her down.

Rules: The leader confronts the heroes in the high branches in the downpour, she is immune to falling due to her training but all other characters including her allies can fall. Remember there is a setback die due to the torrential downpour, if a character generates three threat or or a Despair on a check they fall, one range band for every three Threat or each Despair.

Players can also try to knock people down with a Triumph or 4 Advantage, causing them to fall. This can be avoided by Standing Firm, this is a Maneuver and will make them immune to falling, they can be knocked prone but will not fall and take fall damage.

They will face the Leader, her two Bloodsworn, and three squads of Berserkers, each numbering four.

The battle begins with both sides at Medium, Leader has Adversary 2 and Ranged Defense 1/Melee Defense 2, Bloodsworn have Adversary 1 and Melee Defense 2, and the rest have nothing.

Rewards/Outcome: If the Leader is killed the Aznuri will aid the Republic gain 8 Victory Points, if she is captured alive they see the Republic as weak and vanish into the jungles, Victory Points are nil.

Delmi readied herself for the attack after getting the signal from command that she was needed. Her pistols were at the ready and her gear all intact as the strike team came to the spot the beacon directed them too.

"Here goes nothin'..." She said as the outlines of a group of enemies appeared.

OOC: Move can be used to knock people off, but they get a Coordination or Athletics check at Average to avoid falling to their deaths, this is for both players and enemies. Failure means you fall and suffer damage as if it was Short in addition to the base damage of Move, success means they are simply knocked Prone but still take the base damage of Move.

Iyana flipped forward and then reached out her hand and produced a powerful wave of Force energy that blasted through all of the Republic soldiers, focusing on Oddyn but able to push her energies to the others in a terrifying show of power.

“My Way is superior,” she uttered.

OOC: The battle begins with both sides at Medium, Leader has Adversary 2, and Sense for another double upgrade, and Ranged Defense 1/Melee Defense 2, Bloodsworn have Adversary 1 and Melee Defense 2, and the rest have nothing. Iyana moved to Short range of the group as a Maneuver. She will flip a Destiny to use the two Light side suffering 2 Strain, use 1 pip to activate Move, 1 pip to upgrade Silhouette top 1, 2 pip to upgrade number of targets to 4, will need each member to make an Athletics check or Coordination check or fall. Damage dealt is 11 from the Move power and them being flung back short range putting them all at Medium again, unless they fall. She suffered 2 strain. Critical Injury on Hamelin due to triumph, let me know what you wish the Threat used for.

"Fuu..!" Delmi jolted back to consciousness with a hard spasm as the kolto ran through her veins. From her position on the ground she lifted her pistols with lightning speed and fired on the minions at the back of the party.

Hamelin reached out with the Force to snatch Iyana, but all he managed to do is splinter the tree branch into pieces sending her falling and landing lightly by the Jedi Knight.

OOC: Successful but not enough pips to be effective, but using threat cinematically first three to rip the branch she is standing on and the second three threat to have her land safely next to Hamelin, she is now at Long Range, but short range to Hamelin.

Layne got up a fraction of a second later than the others did, watching the carnage taking place and seeing Hamelin's dire situation. Not to mention the problem with that monk chick's general threat level. Seeing the allied Mandalorian and Delmi kick some serious ass, Layne decided that they could handle themselves for the time being. Rather than bring her lightsabers directly into the fray, she slashed them across part of the tree she was on, essentially cutting the trunk in two from the height she was at. She then nudged it in the right direction, and as it fell down she hopped on at just the right moment.

"Fuck you and your trees!"

For a moment, Layne was surfing a giant tree as it made its way down, hopping off at the last moment... having closed as much of the distance between herself and Lyana as was possible.
