[Delmi Koor]

Delmi held her helmet between her arm and her torso as she walked the final couple of steps towards the railing in front of the glass. The ship bustled with activity that was soon to sweep Delmi up into a whirlpool of blaster fire and explosions. This moment seemed to be the last one she may have... and her thoughts wandered to a different time and place.

The young lord of House Cormond, Xavrys Cormon entered into the Koor home and found Delmi laying on her couch staring up at the ceiling with tears running down her face as she held a small locket in her hand. The roughly 20-year old man coughed once awkwardly as he entered the room. Delmi remained laying on the couch for a few seconds before slowing sitting up and wiping the tears from her cheeks.

"Ummm... the rest of the team came back today... Had some things that were left for you." Xavrys handed Delmi a small package over to Delmi with a look of empathetic understanding. "I'm really sorry Delmi."

Delmi ignored the man's kindness and gently took the package in her hand. After a moment the nobleman left, leaving Delmi sitting alone with the last effects of her father sitting in her hands. Up to this moment in her life opening a package meant for her had always been a rare event, but a joyous one... today opening this meant there was no hope that her father would be coming back. The last thought of it all being a practical joke would be thrown away forever with the tearing of this seal...

She pulled open the package slowly, ripping and tearing physically and symbolically as she did so. Inside she saw a pair of pistols, a republic captain's pin, and a data chip. She dropped her head down slowly as the tears poured from her eyes in a torrent of pain and loss.

After several minutes she pulled up the data chip and plugged it into her datapad. The file soon opened to reveal a single electronic message.

Live strong. Live right. Don't fall for anyone's shit. Live a life you can be proud of. You were the greatest thing that happened to this old man.

Delmi took a deep breath as the stars surrounding the enemy station came back into focus. If there was something she could say... this was the first time in a long time where she felt she could say she was at least partially proud of the work she was doing... If this was to be her final day, then she was happy it could be doing something more than getting enough money to live another day.

[Jax Dolross]

Jax was on the observation deck sitting in a chair staring out into the stars it was early for sure but he was sipping from a flask his thoughts were a little stormy and his expression reflected it. His ship was sitting in the hangar practically in pieces, thee repairs were going to be extensive and likely expensive unless he could get the republic to foot the bill. he looked over as he saw Delmi enter the room and stare out the view port he figured he would leave her alone for a few minutes.

"cred for your thoughts?" a familiar voice came from behind her after a while.

[Delmi Koor]

She swallowed subliminally at the sudden voice from her side and turned to see, “Oh, it’s you.”

Her gaze turned back out to the impending battlefield. “Big fight coming up.”

[Jax Dolross]

"well its got you all twisted up doesn't?" he got up and walked to stand next to her "I take it you're part of the special strike team going after the control station?"

[Delmi Koor]

“Twisted up?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.

“What the hell are you talking about?”

[Jax Dolross]

"Just seem to be real tense is all, which I mean is understandable before a fight. Sorry if im off or over stepping you just look like you could use someone to talk to."

[Delmi Koor]

She shook her head softly, “It’s nothing. Just looking out at the target... memories flood the brain sometimes.”

[Jax Dolross]

Jax nodded "Been dealing with that myself these past couple days. Being back on a station flying in real combat brings back a lot." he has a far away look for a moment then shakes his head "Some good, some bad."

[Delmi Koor]

She nodded in agreement, "And sure to be more good and bad memories made today."

[Jax Dolross]

Jax nodded "Just have to hope the good ones out weigh the bad ones at the end of the day."

[Delmi Koor]

"They rarely do." She said with a serious tone and a blank stare out at the stars.

[Jax Dolross]

"true enough, though one can still hope." Jax said, then he looked at Delmi "So we're getting to the end here, got any plans for after this is all done?"

[Delmi Koor]

"Thinkin' of maybe finding a job here with the Republic..." She replied.

[Jax Dolross]

"Ah joining up huh? Got a taste for the hero life after all this?" Jax smiled when he said it but his tone was friendly not mocking.

[Delmi Koor]

"Was living for revenge for a while... Probably won't ever get it though... So may as well live for something else; something better." She replied.

[Jax Dolross]

Jax's expression sobered a touch "Ah yes, revenge been there done that. Never usually ends well" he looked out to space standing next to Delmi "doesn't usually feel any better once you finish it."

He looks at the woman "I hope you find what it is you're looking for."

[Delmi Koor]

"That's not it." She shook her head.

"It'd feel damn good to do it... it's just that there's no way of trackin' her down."

[Jax Dolross]

Now Jax shook his head "If she's out there there's a way to find her, no one can really disappear in this galaxy just have to find the right lead or know the right people. But I encourage you to let it go, life dedicated to revenge is a life wasted in my opinion."

[Delmi Koor]

"You know anybody who's an imperial spy or knows how to find the trail of one who disappeared almost 20 years ago?" She asked.

"Some folks just ain't gonna be found."
