[Day 1 - EM] Break the Blockade

Timeslots: Early Morning

Description: The Republic needs to break through a blockade to land their troop carriers and supplies, if they fail they may not be able to bring the full might of the strike force to bear. It is imperative that the Republic breaks the blockade and gets their forces and supplies to the ground.

Rules: This is a space combat encounter, if you are a crew please all be prepared to engage in combat and limiting crew actions to four members at most to keep things moving. The goal is to force the Mandalorian frigate to retreat this can be done by doing at least half the Hull Integrity of the ship. Each Republic ship in this encounter is outfitted with a specialized Omega Proton Torpedo for this task, if the ship is a private ship this was a last minute jury rigged endeavor and increases the difficulty of attack with this specific weapon system by 1.

Omega Proton Torpedo: Range Short, Dam 10, Crit 2, Blast 6, Breach 7, Guided 2, Limited Ammo 1, Slow-Firing 1

A Republic pilot can if they wish ram the frigate, this would be a suicide run but if successful will do a great deal of damage, this is a Major collision with a Silhouette 6 Frigate this generates a Critical with a modifier of -30 due to the size of the frigate. Even more so if they have Proton Torpedo, this then becomes a Critical Hit with a +70 modifier, in both cases the player craft is destroyed and the player killed in the attempt as they have to thread the needle to the last possible moment. The Frigate fires at the end of the round versus the Republic and has a compliment of four fighters protecting it. Every two rounds, after the first, a new fighter will join the enemy.

Rewards/Outcome: The primary reward is either building trust with the Bankor Resistance or possibly gaining a Mandalorian as a red shirt depending on the actions and words of the participants.

Trust Modified: No change.
Power Modified: If the Mandalorian forces are routed then the Republic gains 4 Power and 3 Victory Points, if they fail then they lose 3 Power.
Duty Earned: Increase Duty by 5.

Chase had been waiting for this moment all morning, the jitters were finally calming down as she settled her hands on the controls of the Spitfire. Battle sirens were sounding all around. With a last few checks the cockpit sealed her into her metallic stallion loaded with the finest armaments the Republic could afford to bring to bear for this encounter. Meanwhile her trusty companion droid, co-pilot, and longtime friend was loaded into the ship. Strapped in and ready to launch Chase gave and received the all clear for her final checks before launching into the fray.

"Alright, lets see how these Mandalorian's match up against that damned reputation of theirs," Chase said and her T7 beeped happily in response!

"Well, what do you know? They've all come here to greet us once again." A loud sigh breathes out of his lips as he punches it out and begins combat manuevers on the Tourtise. Hitting the comms, he begins to speak into the ship, sighing. "If you're not still up, now is the time.. We're coming in hot do this mission. Get ready people."

Nudimsu wasn't particularly thrilled with the "customization" of his ship, but now was not the time to complain.

Jax sighed as he saw the sensor readings, of course they were dropping into a blockade. He grabbed his armor and threw it on before heading to the pilot seat "check one two, all systems green." His voice was cold, detached, methodical. It was always this way when the flying was serious. "You know what to do, keep that gun on a swivel and watch our six, I'll try and blast a hole through this damn thing and take out any dumb enough to fly in front of me."

Jax cracked his neck as he tightened up on the controls he was maybe a tad distracted given what had just occurred with him and Azura a few hours ago but he forced himself to focus.

"Hold tight T, we're gonna have a little fun," she said off comms, a few joyful beeps came back in response.

Chase leads the charge with the two light freighters backing her up, as the Mandalorian fighters wheel around and begin an intercept course to protect the frigate. Beneath them is the green and blue orb of Bankor, the space battle was on.

OOC: Initiative roll is below for the enemy, the Frigate will go in the last slot. Azura uses her Triumph to Aim as a free maneuver before combat. I will be spending 3 Destiny points for Chase, Jax, and Nudimsu; this upgrades the difficulty on their next action, turning a purple die to a red. The Frigate is Silhouette 5 and at Medium range, the enemy fighters are at Short range, Republic has the first slot as they make their approach. Flipping Destiny die for first back up. Having just launched all fighters/freighters are moving at Speed 1.

“So the Republic finally got some balls and decided to show up, just as planned. Tiyon, Jun, with me, I want to see what these aruetii have to offer. Standard tu’kata formation,” Yiko commanded to her fellow pilots.

She adjusted her course and her flight followed as her Viper screamed into the fray, painted black and red, it stood out from the others who had a more sedate green and steel paint job.

She said, “On intercept course, no quarter, Mando’ade forever.”

GM's Note: The threat will be used to give Nudimsu a setback die on his next action.

Despite his heroic efforts Durasay was pushing the system to the limits and it was probably not in the best shape... which would cause problems for the pilot.

The Mandalorian fighter scream forward one breaking off to target the Turtle hitting with devastating effect as the forward shields go offline! The second fighter screams towards the Mignight and lines up a shot but the blasts go wide setting up his allies for an attack run on the Republic!

OOC: Mandalorian #1 generates a hit for 10 damage and a Critical Hit and gives the next ally a boost die. Utilizes Fly to get into Close range. Mandalorian #2 missed and grants his next ally a boost die! Republic Slot #2 is go, Yiko Kryze and her flight will arrive in two turns, she has Adversary 3. Space Fighters are Silhouette 3 and have Front Defense of 1.

Flying ahead to get an angle on the ship from it's portside Chases' fighter sped past the others and broke through into a firing arc on the main target. Lining it up she spoke a name voicelessly and the torpedo was away. Tumbling into the Frigate with devastating accuracy and effect.

"Suck on that Tin-Cans," she said, and T7 replied with a few excited beeps!

Jax flipped some switches and really got the ol' girl going pushing her engines to the limit trying to get all the speed out of her he could and started accelerating getting the ship up to top speed and angling things to get a good shot in for both him and Azura trying to take out these fighters quick. Jax lined up his shot and let the lasers go but the fighter was slippery dodging his shots. He cursed quietly and focused in.

Chase punches through the defense and her torpedo slams into the frigate with devastating effect, the frigate still held together but the damage was significant! Meanwhile Jax is unable to find purchase on the nimble Mandalorian space fighter!

Chase’s reckless action may cost her as she has given the enemy an advantageous angle on her!

OOC: 17 hull damage on the Frigate, ouch! Chase will suffer a setback die on her next action due to the threat! Republic slot 4.

The remaining Mandalorian fighters break off and attempt to intercept the hotshot Chase, one spins and flips and pulls a daring maneuver to line up with her rear as he accelerates to into position lining up a perfect shot as he gains the advantage on the pilot.

OOC: Mandalorian #3 Accelerates to Speed 2 and then does a Gain the Advantage Action and succeeds. Use 1 Advantage to grant the next ally a boost die. Now Republic 5 slot.
