"So that really leaves only one option."

She shrugged. "Mando's ain't as much as they think they are. They're always just going to be a nuisance. The Empire is the bigger threat."

"Even with the treaty in effect? I don't think either side is in a rush to start that war all over again." Yellow-amber eyes watched the Padawan closely, keeping an eye out for any subtle reactions.

"They may be a nuisance, but I am sure the people of Bankor would say otherwise."

[Layne Hoshin]

"You're incredibly naive if you believe any such thing about the Empire. The peace treaty is nothing more than a ploy to them, and the republic walked straight into it."

[Durasay Mixo]

"I'm not saying to think it'll last." He spoke with an air of seriousness.

After all, Peace is a Lie.

"But to be ready to counter punch, instead of acting first. There are still neutral worlds that would have their opinion shifted if the Republic made the first strike. A guarded cold war is likely where we are." Durasay nodded as he spoke, concerning the situation.

"So we focus on one war at a time."

[Layne Hoshin]

"A mistake. Even now, the Sith are moving."

"And they will move. But we won't strike first. We will not be seen as the aggressors against the treaty. History tends to look poorly on actions such as that."

His eyes focused on Layne's. "Don't mistake my words for complacency. Guarded vigilance will be the law of the day."

"The Sith will nonetheless take advantage of our unwillingness to strike first. Just as they would take advantage if we *did*. They are not held back by morality, or honor, or any such notion. They will always find a way."
