Tethys swings out of the military vehicle, her nondescript brown robes billowing open a bit to reveal the carefully maintained body armor beneath. Her lightsaber hangs from her utility belt in easy reach. She nods to the other volunteers, then looks about warily. In spite of the circumstances, a small smile breaks her default stern expression as a breeze off the water carries the scent of Bankor's ocean toward them.

"Stay safe out there. I gotta drop off the rest of the troops. You know how to call me." The shuttle driver, barely of military age, gave a quick salute goodbye before taking off to other locations of interest.

From the outskirts of the town, the place appeared barren of people to a cursory glance. The buildings covered the inner parts of the town and the rain did not help matters. The path was in minor disarray, with a broken down speeder-bike the most prominent of misplaced objects. At the very least, there was no obvious massacre in the wakes.

---

You may make a Perception (Cunning) Test at Average Difficulty with One Setback Die due to the rain before heading in closer.

Galen looked around, watching carefully for anything unusual.

"Will do" Zanebry replied, as he stepped out of the shuttle. His eyes scanni g the area for anything of interest.

Illyria glanced around them, then down to her pad where visuals streamed from her droid. Though she wasn't sure what she saw, she thought she might have seen.... something?

One advantage to give a boost to the next roll, 2 advantage to boost Tethys, so she gets +2eB total

Tethys looks around, but ends up gauging the reactions of the other three to the scene rather than spotting anything herself.

Can I use that 1 advantage to boost the next person? Still kinda getting a feel for this....

The group kept it tight but it was Galen and Zanebry who caught on to figures in the distance. Only the former, however, was able to make out that they were in civilian garb and not openly armed. They seemed to be watching them and yet not making any approach.

"We've been noticed." he said quietly. "They don't seem hostile, but they aren't coming over to welcome us either."

Tethys looks in the direction Galen has indicated, narrowing her eyes against the drizzle. "If that was their distress call, they may have been expecting the local forces to answer, not the Republic. Shall we see what they want?"

"Sounds good to me." Zan replied, adjusting his gear. "We are here to help after all." With that he moved to approach the group, hands away from his blasters.

Galen fell to the back of the group as they moved to greet the civilians. Zane was the social one, not him.

Tethys does the same as the others, advancing with her palms held outward in a gesture that quite a lot of sentient societies would register as a greeting of sorts.

"Hello there," she says in her melodic alto when she judges that the figures are just within earshot.

Illyria trailed behind, working with C4N-DID to frame the shot of the Jedi interacting with the locals in an aesthetically appealing way that would limit the amount of work she'd have to do in post.

None of the locals made any attempt to come out despite the universally pleasing greeting given by the Jedi. The citizens' intentions were still as clouded as the sky itself...

Galen continued to look around, reaching out with the Force to see if anyone else was nearby.

A tingle running down the back of Tethys's consciousness tells her roughly what Galen is up to. She casts him a quizzical look out of the corners of her eyes but keeps the better part of her attention politely turned toward the visible group of civilians.

"Not a very talkative lot." Z murmured, mostly to himself. "Anyone able to figure out where that signal originated from?" He asked, eyeing the others in the group.

"All I heard is that it was somewhere in this village," Tethys murmurs. "Unless one of you is carrying gear to triangulate a comm signal, I suppose I'll just go and introduce myself." She throws a quick glance at the others, giving them a moment to break in in case they have a better idea.

((Tethys does not really have talky stats to back her instinctive preference for talking things out, BTW. :P ))

"No, but you never know until you ask." The man in the hat replied, as he followed along. He probably should of brought an umbrella, as it was though, soon they would all be soaked through. Maybe he could send the republic the dry cleaning bill.

In the meantime, he'd keep his eyes open, and not on the cute reporter lady. Or at least he'd try that as he approached the group of villagers with the others.

The most naturally welcoming building was a pub which had a clear second story that was presumably for the owners to sleep in. There was someone also spotted in the window earlier, though the figure had not come out into the open since the group had moved closer.

---

You may roll a Social Check at Average Difficulty to introduce yourself. Let's say that only one person can aid; too many is too big of a crowd, yeah?
