The mechanic fell into the beacon, leaving a few wires left unfixed...

Still holding his pistol, Niall ran forward at a steady jog. His expression was bleak, his face pale.

When he reached Melv, he knelt down next to him. Reaching out with his free hand, his blaster still held at the ready, he checked the man's pulse. No matter how extreme the damage to his body.

"He still breathing?" Z asked as he approached, and kneeled down besides Niall. Dead or alive the man wasn't in good shape.

Picking up the man's gun he tossed it to the side, so Z's eyes were mostly on Niall, trying to figure out what the man had in mind.

The main target coughed up some blood and let out some groans. It seemed like he wasn't coherent enough to notice his surroundings anymore, only the pain.

Delmi leaned down to the mechanic she immobilized and pulled out the serum she had been given. While out of sight of everyone he injected him and tagged his jacket with the beacon.

Niall's hand tightened on his blaster, his knuckles turning white. But no matter what the man had done, even to him personally, or perhaps especially to him personally, it was not within Niall to kill an unconscious man.

"Damn. Damn." He muttered. His jaw clenched, then slowly relaxed. "Do any of you know enough to check if he's about to die? Perhaps we should stabilize him. And find out just what they were doing here with that." He nodded over towards the beacon the mechanic had been working on.

"I've got stim's and a med-aid patch." Zane offered quietly, his eyes still on Niall. "I don't know much about mechanics though." Maybe one of the ladies had a good hand at those things though. "We should check the rest of them too, see if any others still breath. If they do, we take them in for questioning."

"Okay." Niall agreed, nodding. He fell silent for a few moments, staring down at Melv.

"Part of me wished he'd died here. It would be easier. Simpler." He said. His voice was soft. "I could have killed him. I could have." His lips pressed firmly together, his jaw clenching. "If he could have looked me in the eye, if he could have understood. Understood what was happening to him. Understood why I was ending him. The culmination of a life bringing pain and death to others. My sister, countless others. You reap what you sow."

He stood, looking away. "It's better this way, I suppose." He sighed, his voice heavy. "Soon, it will be out of my hands again. But I suspect he will find no mercy before a military court. Perhaps... perhaps that is enough."

Luth put away her gun and approached, looking over the man's body with a strange level of detachment. It was up too Niall what to do next, though she wasn't entirely sure what would be accomplished by keeping the man alive. "I don't know much about mechanics, either."

She looked down at the man. "We ambushed him... Even if you'd looked him in the eye, I doubt he would have really grasped the situation." She sighed and shook her head. "Anyway... He's alive regardless. Someone like you..." She looked at Niall with a slight smile. "It's probably better for someone like you that you didn't."

"it'd haunt you." Z agreed with a nod as he looked towards Luth, things like that were better left in their hands. Placing a comforting hand on, Niall's shoulder he reached in his pocket to toss Luith a med-ad patch.

"Why don't you and the Lady" He gestured towards Delmi. "See what you can do with the survivors. I'll take the Captain over to the radio and we can see if we can figure something out."

Niall nodded, briefly closing his eyes. "Thank you." Lifting his head, he gave Luth a smile, before turning to Z, giving him a nod. "Thank you both. You're right, of course."

He nodded agreement to Z. "It looks like some sort of communication device that they were trying to repair. Perhaps its salvageable. If not, we can at least make sure that they won't be able to use it. We have explosives, after all."

He let Z lead him over to the device.

"I dont think we'll have much use for this." Zane replied as he looked the relay over. "We can blow it when were ready to leave."

"Why don't we go over what supplies they have while we wait for evac though. Maybe some of it will be useful to the resistance."

Delmi stepped away from the man and turned to the communications relay nearby as the Captain arrived.

Luth looked down at the man, barely alive, debating whether to just kill him and end it... but it's not what Niall would want, she decided. With that, she walked away to join them at the communication array. She rested a hand on Niall's back when she arrived. She couldn't do much about the array or any of the rest of it now that the fighting was done, but she could offer a bit of comfort.

Niall looked at Z, and gave him a nod. "Sure. Let's gather up their things and get ready for evac. Their weapons can go to the Resistance."

He grimaced, looking around. "Delmi, would you check and see if any of the others are alive? We can bring them with us, too. Hopefully SIS can get something useful out of all of this."

He took a deep breath as Luth rested her hand on his back. Again, he looked at her, giving her a smile.

The encampment was scarce in terms of munitions. They mainly had their blaster rifles, Melv's being a little more kitted out from his days as a bounty hunter. Their main supplies were mainly food and survival.

"Right." Niall said. "Let's secure the wounded and drag them away. Once our transport gets here, we'll blow the comm relay."

He looked around, making sure everyone was on the same page.

"Works for me." Zane replied, glancing at Melv for a moment. He would have to have a chat about Claire about him...

Or not.

She nodded and helped drag the wounded where they needed to be.

Delmi began checking for survivors as instructed.

Melv and Laoren were the only ones showing lifesigns. The mechanic, due to the injection, appeared to have perished in the fight along with the rest of the small force left to keep watch.

"Evac for six then." Zane said simply when the information was relayed. Turning his eyes towards Niall. "You want to do anything with that?" He indicated Melv's modded weapon, there was a chance it had killed his sister after all.

Grimacing, Niall shook his head. "It doesn't matter to me." He said. "It's just a weapon. We'll turn it in with the rest."

He looked away again. "Let's go." Lifting his comm, he put in the order to the transport.
