Galen was checking on the man. "It was a pretty rough landing. Do you have any stims?"

Garth just shook his head.

"Sorry, weren't exactly plannin' on this li'l excursion. I'll mention med supplies when ah radio back to base fer extraction. Six people on two speeders, is math that just don' work even t' me."

"Agreed." He moved to check on the other spy.

"Jax will be fine. He's built of stronger stuff" Azura said, sounding confident even though she was worried. She went over to check on Jax.

"Hey, you might need to radio for doc" she shouted over at the others "anyone got his number?"

"I've got it."

Galen called back to base to explain the situation. As he did, he looked for whatever the spies might have taken.

The stolen goods was in the form of a data chip, with copies of files from the Republic SIS. The passenger on the back was killed by the impact after the shots he had taken. He himself was wearing an SIS uniform. The surviving infiltrator wore casual, padded clothing to blend in at the hangar.

Galen took note of the uniform and looked for anything else of interest.

While Galen did that, Azura took out the stimpacks she knew JAx had and used a few on him.

(Stimmed Jax 3 times for 5, 4, and 3 wounds - total 12 healed)

Jax gasped to life but just barely he clutched his chest. He rose shakily to his feet his voice was thin and strained, he spoke through gritted teeth "I do not recommend getting shot."

"Then don't get shot" Azura replied, although there was clearly a touch of concern in her voice "we've radioed through for medical assistance, so don't feel like you have to get up if you don't need to."

She offered him a bottle of water.

"I'll keep that in mind." He said taking the water "thanks."

He stumbled over to the prisoner and weakly slapped him in the back of the head "why the hell did you shoot me if you were just going to surrender?!"

Galen was able to find the stowed away weapons on the man. A blade hidden in a dud commlink, still coated with blood, and a garrote. The team also had a map of the region with one spot marked. Presumably, based on the route, that was where they were heading.

The spy glanced at Azura. "Well, she didn't go down as easily as I hoped from the crash." His eyes went to Galen. "Then he shot me. He's a better shot with a rifle than I anticipated."

Garth waited patiently for the arrival of the republic extraction team, he smiled as Jax got up. He'd grown quite attached to the older pilot and would've been upset ha the crash proved more damaging to him than it was.

Azura smirked.

"Good call, I was going to leave you in pieces if you hadn't given up."

"Alright, I think I've got everything." Galen said. "There's a map of where they were going, too."

Glancing round and realizing he was the only proper member of the republic, he asked the crew as a whole.

"No issues handing this intell in t' the brass when we get back, right?"

Jax's voice was a little thin as he listened in "As curious as I am to discover what is there I'm fairly certain I need to go to bed or medical soon." he thought for a moment "Though whatever is there may be gone by the time command gets around to investigating."

"Evac's only a few minutes out and we got the best med team in this sector." Garth tried to placate Jax. "But if'n ye don't make it, ah'd just like t' remind Azura what a fine pilot ah am if she needs help with th' Midnight."

The broad grin on Garth's face gave away the joke far too easily though.

Garth looked over at the crashed speeder, but didn't dare contradict the teenaged firecracker.

Jax grinned back at the other pilot "She wishes I was that easy to get rid of. I wouldn't let another man handle my baby even if I die."

Garth's about 50% sure Jax was referring to the Midnight, but again opted to defer to silence, just nodding along supportively.

Galen watched the exchange with a small grin.

"I'll be happy to turn it all in and go to bed."
