As the sun had set in the distance and the temperature became a little more manageable, Teffa decided to go out strolling to this supposed 'sea' of trees. It was certainly more interesting than being around rocks and sand all day. Unfortunately, it seemed that she didn't quite catch the memo regarding the wilderness and the tropical environment surprised Teffa in more ways than one. Wandering to the off-beaten path, she unfortunately was stung by one of the local swarming insects. She staggered slightly and placed her hand on a try.

"Oh man, I think I took a wrong turn..." She murmured to herself and she began to feel a little light-headed.

Day 7 - Hard Resilience check: 2eA+3eD 1 failure

The forest was dark, but alive with the sounds of insects and life. It was beautiful with all the bio-luminescent plants and animals, a carnival of living lights and sounds. Then a figure emerged from that darkness and said, “Uhh… miss what are you doing out here, alone?”

"That's," Teffa said as she placed a hand on the truck of a tree with a huff, "a good question. I guess I saw a few people venturing out and I thought there must have been something worth seeing."

When she thought about it, it was perhaps a squad of soldier or a very prepared team on a mission. It wasn't a tourist outing, that's for sure.

She looked up and narrowed her eyes at him. "What are you doing here?"

"We are patrolling," he said gesturing to a droid at his side. "This isn't a place for tourism, did you not read the intelligence brief?"

"Oh! That makes sense. Nice night to be patrolling, eh?" She said as she mustered smile, as if she ran into someone in a city park or a grocery store.

She let out a sigh as it was too tiring to keep up with the act. "I figured that wouldn't be any areas around here. I think I got the memo...but I didn't think I was walking in that part of the sea...Are you tired?"

“No, but we should get you back to the base before we get exposed to the fever,” he replied.

"Yeah, great idea..." She bobbed her head up and down in agreement.

She gestured forward to where they came from or at least where she thought the general direction was. It was hard to tell now that things were getting darker and she was feeling more enfeebled. "Why don't you lead the way back, handsome, and I'll be right behind you..."

He gulped and blushed and said, “Yeah, this way. Lead on R6.”

“So you just came out here for a walk?” he said making nervous conversation.

Teffa started following after the soldier and his droid, her pace was rather sluggish and certainly missing that bounce in her step that she had earlier when she first ventured out into the wild. Whatever stung her had certainly clipped her wings, so to speak. "Kind of...I was hoping to run into something neat, like a casino or a canteen. I guess it's really all trees around here and monks."

She let out a huff before regarding the soldier again. "I'm Captain Teffa, and you are...?"

“Private Theo Shan, Private Shan s fine. Why would there a cantina here or a casino? This is the least populated continent on the planet,” he replied looking at her.

“Do you need help ma’am?” he offered.

"There was a casino at the last place...? Maybe I was thinking I could have beat the Mandos to it before they raided that one too." She didn't really think there was a casino around here but with how the fever was getting to her, she was beginning to believe that it might have been a possibility the more the dwelled on it. "Maybe it's hidden away and only the locals know about it. Figures they don't want anyone else stealing their money..."

She raised up a hand, "No, I think I'm fine. If you start carrying me now, I'm going to get used to it..."

“You just don’t look well, ma’am,” he replied with concern.

Teffa frown faintly at Shan as she narrowed her red eyes, "Hey! Just because I'm not the prettiest girl at the base doesn't mean I don't look well, okay?"

"I wouldn't know but you look unwell, maybe you caught the fever," he responded.

Teffa signed and placed a hand up to her forehead, she was feeling hot and that likely wasn't just attributed to the temperature around. "...Maybe that's it. I'm feeling rather winded and I thought it was just from the walk here. It's definitely no park."

"Let me help you, just in case," the Private responded.

Teffa let out an exasperated sigh at the offer for help, although she didn't know if she could really get back by herself. She found another tree to lean on and gave a few reluctant nods. "Sure, let's do it your way then. We'll say that you really twisted my arm."

The Private nodded and assisted the Chiss back to the base, probably for the best as he wasn't too good after they started walking. He gritted his teeth, "Guess we both needed help."

Teffa placed a hand on his shoulder and leaned on him as they began the trek back to base. "I thought you were the one offering the rescue and now we both need help? You don't look so great, am I that much of a hassle?"

"The fever is highly contagious, so who knows... but if we work together we can get back," he said optimistically.

Teffa was quick to retract her hand from his shoulder, "If you got it, you didn't get it from me! We only just met a few minutes ago! If you got it, it was from whatever you were doing a while ago...and whoever you were with."

“The droid?” he asked looking at the droid rolling alongside,

“It does not matter, we are all heading to the same place.”

"Yep, it had to be the droid..." she said before pausing for a heavy breath and nodded. "Well, thanks for the help, I'm sure all of us paid volunteers must be quite a hassle with how you do things around here."

“Not at all, I am glad we have so many civilian volunteers here to help the good fight,” he replied warmly.

"We aren't working for free, I'd like to point that out first," she said with a tired chuckle. "But I guess we could have been anywhere else or any other gig. Is there another gig after this for you?"
