Hutt Needs a Hut [LN1]

Because living in Barracks was just demeaning, Rekto decided to seek a lair. This abandoned and probably security-heavy museum seemed like a good place for new headquarters of his future criminal syndicate... or something.

While he wasn't able to avoid taking a hit or two, all who would watch his approach remained clueless as he was trying to find a way to break in.

It was relatively quiet but the Mandalorian patrols were out in force, plus every now and then he could hear sounds of combat in the distance as resistance and Republic fighters engaged Mandalorians across the city.

The structure was rather large and was probably quite the monument to learning in the city but now it just seemed a quiet grave of things gone by. Torn banners hang from large pillars and the main doors had large avian like statues flanking the sealed doors.

Rekto appraised the decor briefly, but he had no higher taste for architectural art and such, and entering via main door seemed disingenuous, so he slithered in darkness to find some back door to the complex.

There is a service entrance that he finds off on the east side of the building after some searching, equally locked but more importantly there are three Mandalorians sitting in a speeder. One has their helmet off enjoying a smoke while the other two seem alert.

Rekto kept his distance. He removed the blaster lance from its holster on his side and lay down, waiting for the speeder to move to another patrol place while aiming at the one closest.

They don’t seem to be moving and then the door opens and a fourth joined them. From the shape it looked to be a woman, but armor and the fact that most two legged humanoids look alike it would be difficult to know for sure.

Overhead a gunship does a fly over with a spot light doing a search, they miss the stealthy hutt.

As Rekto realised he'd be unlikely to force his entry into this Mando-infested building as it was right now, he decided to eavesdrop for intel, or any other useful information. Maybe one of the four was someone. He knew Mando'a well enough.

The hutt was instead stealthy, they didn’t notice him but he does overhear one of them say, “Hey did the commander send word on when they want this stuff destroyed? She likes sending messages to the populace and the people love their stupid history.”

Another chimed in, “Tomorrow, it all burns. After that we bug out.”

One of them said, “I thought I saw something… over there. Check it-”

They all pause and then hop into their speeder and move away at high speed.

Rekto believed much more in premeditation than luck, but it seemed opportune. He had one more reason to break in: if it all had been mined, breaking the detonator or two might make a difference tomorrow. He didn't particularly care about sensitivities or morale of the local populace, but making himself providencial appealed to him as he needed a better standing against all the movers and shakers. So he poked out cautiously from his spot, watching the surroundings for a sign of danger.

Unaware of any additional dangers, he quietly slithered toward the door, after changing the weapon to the projector.

He can’t get it open or find a way to bypass the security when some one flashes a light in his general direction and four zabrak come walking out of the shadows. Two armed with knives and the other two have blaster pistols.

One said in Basic, “Is that a hutt?”
