Bankor

The Midnight easily bypasses any patrols and lands on the rugged airless moon and is waiting for now for the other party. From here they can see the green and blue of Bankor as it fills the sky of the moon.

Currently everything has gone smoothly…

Azura remained where she was on the ship, keeping watch and remaining alert to threats.

Jax looks at Bankor for a moment noting how it looks so much smaller from here reveling how much difference a little distance makes. He relaxes a little once they land but he doesn't shut any systems down leaving it all running in case they need to beat a hasty retreat. He kept his eyes alert as he waited for the contact to show.

They get a communication from a Ship ID of the Infinite Destiny the voice is smooth and the tongue, Basic, “This is Captain Kalen, is this the Midnight?”

"That it is, holding a gift from the clever man." He said using the phrase Faya had told him to.

There comes a reply, “Got it, coming in for a landing.”

A few moments later another light freighter lands, nearby. A droid descended from the dock and set up some equipment that created a moderate energy dome, covering area between the two ships.

They get word from Captain Kalen, “Alright, we got air, I am coming out.”

Down the ramp from the Infinite Destiny approached a twi’lek with a wide brim hat and a blaster on his hip. He smiled waiting for the Midnight crew to join him under the energy dome. At his side is the same droid, holding a heavy blaster rifle.

Jax went down to the cargo bay and lowered the ramp the cargo on a lift next to him as he walked out. His armor on and his blaster holster unclipped. "Welcome I have a shipment for you." He said as he presented the cargo.

“Sounds like it,” he stepped forward and extended his hand, “Just point us to it and we can get it where it needs to be.”

“HK, told you this would go smoothly.”

HK replied, “Statement: meatbags are far too prone to complacency.”

Jax shook the man's hand firmly "I think we are all looking for a smooth easy job, they are few and far between. Here you go." Jax pointed the man in the direction of the cargo they needed to pick up.

“HK, get to it,” he said and then put his hand to his ear, “Hey send the kid down, we got ourselves a pickup. Hey don’t give me that, just send the kid down… don’t make me…”

He cleared his throat and said to Jax, “Smooth is our mantra.”

As he spoke a younger human woman came down the ramp, probably in her late teens. He gestured to HK and said, “Hey Kira, follow HK here and get the goods.”

Kira rolled her eyes and follow the droid.

Jax noted all the activity "you got quite a crew don't you? 4 man's aren't too common to see about."

Azura had remained on board the ship, as Jax hadn't told her to come with. She listened in from aboard, keeping a careful eye on the proceedings from her position.

Kalen chuckled and said, “Kira is the new, seen plenty of crews of all sizes. Just run with who I can trust and who can get the job done, no questions asked. All you can ask for in this business. Sometimes you get lucky, others time burned.”

“Take it you got a small team?”

Jax shrugged "It fluctuates, same as you I run with who I trust." Jax said casually a pleasant half smile on his lips as he watched the work go down his eyes were sharp and alert though keeping tabs on all the moving parts.

Kalen was relaxed, if he was concerned he did not show it. He responded, “Comes with the work, which is why I keep doing it. This score is nice and so far pretty easy. What I come to expect from a Clever Man job, usually.”

“Hey kid, get a move on, we got places to be.”

He turned back to Jax and removed a flask and took a drink and then offered Jax, “Drink?”

Jax shook his head "Thanks but I'm good." He looked at the other smuggler "So tell me, what's this clever man thing? you ever meet the guy?" Jax asked casually, he was curious about this mysterious benefactor that they were all working for.

“Nope, but I met his creds and they spend real nice. Showed up in sector about seven months ago? Maybe? I was between jobs and I needed to feed the kid, so fished around and snagged this sweet work. Don’t ask questions, deliver on time… mostly, and you get steady work,” he said.

“Better than our time fishing for work on Korriban, well almost we did get a big score for helping a Sith.”

Jax nodded "good money and easy work sounds like a good plan." in his head the wheels were turning this much money doesn't pair with this easy of a job without some kind of downside or shady business which Jax usually doesn't mind but only when he knows about it.

Kalen replied, “I know it sounds too good, but hey sometimes it’s nice to have an easy day. Makes up for all the interesting days.”

Kira came up and said, “That’s the last of it Captain.”

He nodded and said, “Nice doing business with you, Jax.”

Jax extended a hand "always nice when they go smooth. Hey if you and your crew are ever doing jobs around coruscant look me up." he said with a friendly smile. After their business was concluded Jax went back on the Midnight and closed up the ramp.

Kalen smiled and returned to his ship and shortly after they leave.

Jax got on "Alright Azura that went smooth, ready to head back." with that the ship took off and began heading back to Bankor.

"We got the credits?" Azura asked over the comms, taking her position again.

"Payment on return, job here was drop off and head back." Jax said as he piloted the ship back to Bankor

"That's less fun" Azura frowned "but fine. Drinks are on you when we get back, right?"
