Layne was bored. Today had been fairly exhausting, mentally more so than physically. She needed something to unwind with. Her mind wandered as she thought of something to do, then she remembered the weird email that Captain Alderaan had sent her. She'd only skimmed the book he'd attached. It was some sort of game? It was bizarre, even more so because it seemed so out of character for the guy. And she could've sworn she saw a rather lengthy chapter on wookie mating rituals in there. And maybe specific rules for it too.

"Fuck it..."

She loaded a ship terminal into the local holonet, and started searching channels for anything to do with this game. Maybe other people were already playing it.

♥Stab: Anyonez hear about this Wookie game? I think it's a game where you play roles? Is there a game on?

Jax was laying on his bed on the Midnight surfing the holonet trying to relax a bit after the craziness of the mission earlier. He planned on visiting Lelia in medical but until then he figured he would see if anything interesting was going. He too thought about that odd e-mail that came from someone pretending to be Niall. It was a good prank and Jax appreciated it but now he was curious about checking it out to kill time if nothing else. He saw someone asking about the game and gave them a reply

2Fly: I don't know much about it but I've seen the rulebook and stuff. Never played might be interested.

While winding down in the evening, Niall had kinda-sorta been keeping an eye on the chat. And, seeing someone in need, he was all too willing to help.

♥Stab: I'm thinking I could play a Wookie doctor maybe. I don't know. I was wondering if there was like an actual game already running, or if the captain was going to start one.

And then came the reply, or it may have come first and she missed it.

♥Stab: Oh. Have they been playing long? I don't know, isn't it better to start off at the beginning?

Niall sighed. This was a strange way to spend the evening. But, having helped once, he felt an obligation to be more helpful...

TheRealCA: You can do both. There's an overarching plot, and then smaller ones happening all the time

Niall cleared his throat, glad that the person he was chatting with couldn't see him reddening.

♥Stab: I don't know, it all seems a bit daunting. I only got this book like yesterday. I don't really know all the rules yet. Running with veterans seems intimidating. Maybe someone here could run a starter game?

Well, if Commander Malcolm thought this chat room might be relevant to operational security, Tethys should probably check it out. Intelligence gathering isn't her area of expertise, but how hard can it be to simply observe?

She's already skimmed the 'rule book' carefully from end to end, with some perplexity at parts. So it's something like an especially complicated variant of Dejarik? But you also have to write a sort of holodrama script to go with it? And... everyone is a Wookiee? So she'll need a Wookiee name... lucky thing she took that Shyriiwook intensive a few years ago.

Well, it's worth a look, at least. Though after lurking for a while, her confusion hasn't really abated.

Blast. From his limited experience observing, there were usually experienced people online to give guidance. But it seemed like they were all gone.

He'd perused the rulebook, back when he thought it contained intelligence information. Niall sighed.

TheRealCA: Fine, okay. I'll run the introductory adventure. Base book only
TheRealCA: Does everyone have a character made? If not, you can use one of the premades

He ignored the bit about the non-wookiee, or sexy wookiee.

"Unity" got a file sent over that probably had a few minor mistakes on it, and had a very bare bones amount of fluff to it. It did not have a name yet.

Niall's lips quirked. He was pretty sure he could figure out who Unity was.

TheRealCA: The game is set on Kashyyyk, you will all be members of the Grrobahrr clan. Or at least very good friends, if you want to belong to one of the other allied clans
