Despite the brassy heat of the desert afternoon, Tethys stands outside in the shadow of a building near the edge of the encampment. Shading her eyes with her hand, she trains her gaze on the desert horizon toward the Ebon Waste, where a dark grayish-brown, heavy mass is hanging low in the sky and obscuring the boundary between air and land.

The Jedi wasn't alone, as a figure clad in blue-white armor stood not far off. "Jedi Carris." She greeted the woman. "Cutting it close?"

“The last forecast said it may not come this far. Even if it does, I’m much closer to shelter than to the storm.” The tall Jedi quirks an eyebrow at Sabine. “Unless you’re referring to some other danger, that is, Sergeant Kryze. You know war zones better than I do.”

"Stray bolts, bombs, random savage monsters." She shrugged. "Just making sure you don't get hurt unnecessarily." She frowned. "So, you use the Force, right?"

"I assure, you, I've been hurt necessarily enough times to tell the difference," Tethys says calmly. She glances sideways at Sabine in response to her next question. "I can. Why?"

"Just curious. Never met a Jedi before... well, not true, I did meet Aran. But before Bankor. I just heard all the stories about you, you know." She shrugged. "Just... don't know. How does it feel?"

"Feel?" Tethys shrugs one shoulder. "Like... being in your own body, truthfully. Just more so." She frowns slightly, two vertical lines appearing between her eyebrows. "I apologize if that's not helpful. I haven't found a very good way to describe it to beings who aren't aware of it already."

"So... I should imagine being in my body, only... twice?" Sabine ventured. "I mean... you can move things without touching them. How do you do it?"

“Not exactly." She purses her lips slightly, thinking. "Imagine that your consciousness doesn't stop at the edges of your physical body. Stretching out your mind to move something is not so different from stretching out your hand, once you've learned how to do it."

"Hm... so when you are pumped full of painkillers after a party where you drank a lot of moonshine?" She asked helpfully.

"I'm... not equipped to evaluate that comparison," Tethys admits, the corners of her mouth twitching upward a bit.

"Hrm... oh yeah, Jedi are not that experienced with hard drugs, I assume. How about when you're drunk?" Sabine, being obviously helpful.

"Also not something of which I make a habit, generally." Tethys casts Sabine a sidelong look. The sergeant hadn't seemed that hard-living, but perhaps Tethys should revise her estimation. "But consuming ethanol to excess usually makes me feel sluggish, not more alert..."
