The woman looked at Durasay and said, “Why would there be boulders?” She shrugged and addressed the group, “The Temple is hardened and has shielding for aerial attack. Her people attacked from the ground and overwhelmed us with numbers. I expect now she has strengthened her advantage.”

She brought up a rough design of the temple and she identified the defenses, it is going to be a tough battle to break and with the shields make air support less valuable.

“Her people are strong but do not possess modern weapons, you have advantage there.”

OOC: Warfare roll of Hard with a setback due to the incomplete schematics.

Chase took up her position at the back of the room, taking a long sip from her coffee cup, then muttering her toughts to herself, "Can't believe it's come to assassinating someone we don't even know, fighting for a cause we know nothing about, based on the promise of adding some bodies to our forces. Starting to wonder what we even are anymore."

Niall shot Chase a quick look, but the Lieutenant seemed to have subsided.

Instead, he focused his attention on the diagram, his eyes narrowing thoughtfully.

Durasay looked to Chase for a moment, understanding apparent in his features. He would have to speak with her after the meeting. Turning back to the Schematics, his yellow-amber eyes studied them with great intent.

Jace frowned and said, “We are not here as assassins, the Aznuri have been displaced from their home by a tyrant, if we can aid them we should. Capturing this tyrant should be our goal, but if it comes to it, ending her life may be a necessity.”

“We follow the Republic Law of Armed Conflict to the letter, is that understood,” he said looking at Chase and then the rest of the group.

“Thank you Sister Mazakin, for your input.”

OOC: The temple is a fortress, it was probably a fortress first and then converted into their temple built on the bones of previous people that have tried to colonize the planet and came to this region. It will be hard fighting to take it.

Lyseil: The structure has a design similar to older Alderannian styles of fortresses, which means it may have secret passages in and out to exploit. But that is only a guess.

Niall: With the data you have, a small team could breach the walls and probably overpower the primitives running the place given your more powerful weaponry.

Durasay: Similar to Niall, but he thinks he can see a breach they could utilize to get a team in and open the doors, from there it would be a simple matter to dispatch the primitives.

"Hmmm..." the sergeant said out loud.

"Maybe there's some secret passages we could use? Or... that the enemy could use?"

Lyseil Panteer wrote:"Maybe there's some secret passages we could use? Or... that the enemy could use?"

Aran perked up; he knew very little about war, but something more about breaking and entering. "Any way out is a way in, and vice versa. If we could sneak in and disable their defenses, then they will no longer be zeroing out our greatest advantages, yes?" He leaned in to the display, and spoke softly, perhaps to himself. "I would want to see this place in person...."

"Here." Durasay pointed to the breach point he saw. "Looks like something we can use. A small, well co-ordinated strike team moves in. Opens the doors, catching the enemy by surprise." The Pantoran looked back up to the others present.

"Should be easy enough."

Niall frowned, looking at the spot Durasay had pointed out. "It doesn't seem possible that our enemies don't know about that spot. We might expect to find them waiting for us exactly there."

He tapped his lips thoughtfully. "I might instead suggest creating our own breach. Once we're inside, they'll be unable to stop us."

"Now... I gotta interesting question," Chase said, moving her cup back up and hovering about chest height, "where did a bunch of monks who focus on the self find themselves with the need to get shielding for their base against aerial attack? Doesn't seem like the kinda thing that you'd worry about out here. We're fighting natives, no? Doesn't seem the kinda people who'd come in with air support anyway. Just who were you worried about that you readied your defenses like this?"

“We value our privacy and our security, it is the fool that builds a home and leaves the door open for her enemies to come in the night. Many things are within reach when resources are pooled,” she said calmly in Huttese.

“Perhaps you think us to be yokels, but we simply value the remote location.”

Chase sipped her cup, got nothing, but she didn't let that show right away. Wasn't really convenient for the moment as she looked over the top of it at the woman. "You're hiding something, and it's looking like we're gonna find out what. Security nuts or not, it holds true either way. I'll be waiting to see what it is. You can mark those words down if you want."

"It might not be the monks who built it , lieutenant, as it seems more like it was built as a fortress. Could've been a remote military outpost long-long ago," Lyseil clarified for Chase, hoping it would reduce the hostility and tension there.

Chase's insubordinate outbursts were the exact reason Cole didn't want to attend this briefing. He ran a hand through his curls and melted further up against the back wall, attentive but impatient.

"Not from the way she talks of it, but I rest my case anyway," Chase said with a shrug. Taking a step off toward somewhere looking for some unneeded shelf to set her empty cup down for now. "Anyway, if we're coming in to get your home back for you a fair deal of our air forces wouldn't be all too useful anyway. 'less we were lookin' to blow it off the face of the dirt but I don't think anyone here is looking for that. Even me, if you can believe it."

"Still, when it comes to the main attack if we can get those shields down to fly reinforcements in. Could tip the odds greatly."

"haps you might be able to designate some points close to home that might serve as landing sites for that kinda thing?" Chase asked looking to the woman.
