Cole wrapped his long fingers around his mug and sipped from it. His stomach hurt, and his brow furrowed as he calculated how long had passed since he woke up. It hadn’t been eight hours yet, but it was definitely more than four. He checked the time and set down his mug, taking out a hypospray and loading it. “Excuse me,” he turned, popping one of the buttons of his jacket so he could inject himself, his back to his patients.
