Niall's smile faded, just a little. "You're right. It is."

His lips quirked. "Well. We talked about kicking the Mandalorians off this planet. If you can't kick just as well with a cybernetic leg as you can with a natural one..." He shook his head. "It doesn't matter. I know you can. And perhaps tomorrow you'll have the opportunity to prove it."

Sabine smiled. "You bet your..... rank. Yes, rank. That is what I was going to say. How is everyone else faring? People are holding up all okay so far?"

One eyebrow went up again, but Niall laughed softly.

"Hmmm." Niall frowned. "More or less, yes. There's been some unusual radio chatter from people out on patrols. Probably bears some further investigation. And then these monks..." Niall shrugged. "Ask again later. There's just too many unknowns right now."

"Anyone in particular you're asking about?"

"Unusual how?" She frowned. "This place is... weird." She didn't look happy as she spoke, and took a handful of pills and downed them with water. "Z's doing ok? Jax? Oddyn? Rav?"

"It is weird." Niall agreed.

"Hmmm..." He pursed his lips. "Z's fine. He's helping me with the special mission later. Jax... I need to see about him. Haven't spoken to Rav lately, but he's well. I've not met Oddyn, but I'm pretty sure I've seen him around here a few times." He waved his arm vaguely, indicating the hospital.

"Need to see about Jax?" She frowned. "Anything happen to him I need to know about?"

Niall shook his head gently. "He's fine. I just need some information from him."

"How do you know him?" Niall's eyebrows went up.

Sabine shrugged. "We met a few times. Managed to talk the Last Toboga down from shooting anyone. I can talk to him if you'd like?"

Niall shook his head again. "No, we're past that stage. I think. I'll let you know."

He tilted his head, regarding Sabine. "Actually, though, I would be curious to know your impression of the man. What do you think of him as a person?"

"He seems... okay? Former military, bit of a dork, can fly things... nothing too special. Likes flying too much, most probably." She shrugged. "No alarm bells for me."

"Hmmm." Niall pursed his lips thoughtfully. "I suppose that fits with my assessment, more or less. I have the impression that he's a good man, at least on the inside. He helped quite a bit with the labor for the Resistance water supplies, and seemed happy to do so."

He spread his hands. "I was hoping to get a second opinion on that from somewhere. I hope I'm not just being optimistic."

"Well, you'll always be optimistic, but that is good captain. We need people like you." She smiled at him. "I think he's good people... perhaps not necessarily in a good situation, but his heart is in a good place, and that's what's important."
