"Oh I know about the drinks why do you think I'm here, just to dance with a beautiful princess?" He said with a teasing voice.

"As for letting off steam, dancing is one of the best ways to do it, and after the past couple days I could certainly use a release" He said with a smile "you've done a spectacular job, I'm sure everyone will appreciate the effort." He gave her a sincere smile. Jax really did think they had done a special thing here tonight.

Lyseil put a hand to her mouth as she made a mock-gasp at his comment about being here for the drinks. "Why, I am shocked, sir!" she teased in return, and the movement took her closer to her dance-partner and her hand found its place on his back.

"I think we all could use it. Being on a campaign like this is hard for everyone," she nodded with appriciation of his praise. "Z did most of the work, to be honest. And provided the music and the drinks. I just added a couple of details..." her tone held some amount of respect and admiration for the man.

Jax encouraged the closeness enjoying the way Lyseil felt as they danced "what can I say I appreciate a good drink and a beautiful dance partner but if I have to choose...." He said grinning at her. His words belied the truth his eyes told which was that there were few places he'd rather be.

"He is indeed a talented and resourceful man but don't downplay your role in this, it was your idea after all, you got all the clearances from the commander plus I can tell you helped decorate. Both of you did well."

Teffa was standing on the outskirts of the dance floor like it was a high school dance. However, the lack of people on the sidelines was probably a good indicator that everyone was passed that awkward point in their age. She should probably get out there and do something about it. Strolling over to where Layne was standing, she gave her a wave with her gloved hand to greet her. "Good evening! I'm Captain Teffa of the Trunk. At least this event comes with two drinks, eh?"

Delmi walked through the doors into the room with a slight look of surprise at seeing the gathering of people. She'd just come from the infirmary and was looking for a drink to help the medicine go down smoothly for the evening. She walked up to the bar through the big collection of people and ordered a drink which she then waited for quietly as the music and fun progressed around her.

R4 had heard something of the festivities and thought to attend, for observation purposes. Being this was a public gathering, there should be no difficulties with observation. R4 found a convenient spot where they would not be in the way but would have an optimal view and settled in for some extensive observation.

The bottom of her skirt twirledas she moved through the turn gracefully. "The obvious answer would be your partner," she replied teasingly as they moved.

Oddyn arrived in his best suit. Which was his armour suit, but this is how Mandalorians partied. He at least took the effort to groom his beard afresh and do something about his hair, namely to cover the hideous scar on the side of his scalp with some of them. Music was on and it was so-so, but what he really hoped to find there was booze.

Delmi got her drink and turned her back to the bar to look out at the party going on. All the folks dressed in their fancy dresses was such a sharp contrast to the flesh-eating monsters she had just gotten out of killing a few hours ago. She looked down as the droid wheeled up near her and appeared to be observing the party like her.

"Interesting behavior, huh buddy?"

The droid looked around, trying to identify who this being was talking to. After utilizing occam's razor, ze determined they must be speaking to zim. *Buddy is not my designation. Is there a reason for this term?*

"It's a designation people will call others when they don't know their proper designation and want to be friendly." She replied as she looked down at the droid.

"I'm Delmi Koor. What are you called?"

"... Then you'd be choosing the drink," she retorted with an equal grin.

She remained close as the music slowed down to a smoother part, and now that she hadn't been sneaking around in a sandy warzone in dusty clothing, the fresh floral scent of her perfume was much more noticeable. "Well, thank you. I suppose I will settle for saying that it was made possible through teamwork! Much like a lot of our efforts here on Bankor. Working together for a common goal," Lyseil chuckled a little bit.

Working together for a common goal," Lyseil chuckled a little bit.

Jax caught a whiff of her perfume and took a deep breath "my my you smell wonderful. A delightfully refreshing scent." Since she remained close she would smell Jax as well, a sort of pine smell from a cologne but underneath his more natural smells of leather and probably a faint sweetness of spiced alcohol. All a soft smell she couldn't detect until the were almost pressed together.

"Teamwork is indeed marvelous, so many things can be done working together." He said smiling down at her. He paused a bit "so we all call you princess but are you actual royalty? Not that it matters but it's been something that's gnawing at my curiosity." His voice was casual as their bodies swayed to the smoother rhythm, his hand situated on her back nestled in the hallow in the small of her back. His other hand clasped her hand enjoying the soft skin. His thumb began rubbing absent mindedly.

The music slowed and smoothed; after a moment, Niall adjusted his steps. At the new pace, it was almost easier to dance close, the better to communicate the more subtle changes. After a moment, Niall slid his hand behind to rest on her shoulder-blade. "It is better, isn't it?" It wasn't entirely clear whether he was referring to the new position of his hands or thinking of his partner.

The droid spun ze's optical port to look at Delmi. *Ahh. This is logical. Obviously organics do not have their designations written on them. I am designated R40XY. Do you prefer to be called Delmi, Koor or Delmi Koor?*

"Delmi is great. And what do you prefer R4?" She asked.

The comment on her scent actually made her blush, and she was instantly glad they weren't doing any complex dance moves right now. So it didn't take much more to make her a little flustered.

"...Weeell..." she cleared her throat and her voice lowered a little. "House Panteer is the royal house of Alderaan. Queen Silara is... well, I'm not that closely related to her. My father is like her second cousin's nephew."

"I heard there was some alcoholic lubrication available. Just got back from the med bay and wanted a bit of a drink to help me sleep." She replied as she took a sip of her drink.

"Never been one for dancing most the time anyway... Never really understood the appeal." She said as she leaned back onto the bar.

"What about you? What brings you to the party?"

The smuggler's eyebrow rose a bit as Lyseil spoke "Well well so I am dancing with bonafide royalty, this is a novel experience indeed." he said his voice pitched low to match her own but nothing changed about his bearing or his expression "Very interesting indeed." was all he said after that.

there was a little pause before he leaned down and spoke even more softly, his breath tingling her ear "By the way when you blush its almost as cute as your little chipmunk frustrated face." he spoke in a teasing voice and had a playful grin on his face as he straightened a bit and looked into the princess' eyes.

Niall was good with words. He always had been. And part of that was being good at knowing what to say.
Sometimes that was nothing at all.

And so, Niall was silent as he and Luth danced together. His hand shifted on her back, just a little, fingers brushing against her, drawing her just a little nearer. His eyes closed; he didn't need them to hear the music, or to sense his partner.

*Observation. I was told that this sort of activity is a primary vehicle for organic mating rituals. Having no experience or need for such activities, I found myself curious as to why they are accomplished and what purpose such an activity has in mate selection. It would seem there would be many other optimal methodologies to select a mate beyond rhythmic gyration of bodies. Therefore, I determined there must be an element my observations have missed and decided to study further.*

The droid paused and returned to a previous statement. *Do organics require alcohol as lubricant? Its more commonly used as a cleaning solution, but if organics possess parts that have frequent build up, that would be useful.*

"People usually end up taking it for the effects it has on their mind. 'Lubricant' was an analogy I gave ya so you could kinda understand the function. It helps a lot of folks relax and loosen up when some kind of internal or external stressor is making it hard to be like... fully optimal. Take too much though and you end up with a different set of uhh... deficiencies. Gotta be calibrated right."
