"Veeone's experimental laminate armour has not been penetrated in the last thirty nine point oh five days."

Servos whirred as it swivelled to sweep it's vision across the area.

"Last penetrating hit was to left upper leg and has been effectively repaired to factory specification."

She could'nt do anything but shrug at this point

''Allrighty then. Still if you need anything repaired feel free to come see me, I am used to work with unusual droids''

There was an affirmative burst of binary.

"That is good. Veeone has not found many technicians capable of understanding this unit's architecture and programming."

''I bet'' she replied giving a nod

''But if I could have repaired R5 then I am certain I can do good work on you'' she finished with a smile

Veeone looked to the side with a concerted sound of several servos operating at once.

"Padawan Zyn coded to core memory as primary droid engineer for this campaign. Veeone will seek out Padawan Zyn if repair or maintenance required is greater than what Veeone's systems can self repair. Specialist Devaroo assigned as secondary engineer."

She had to admit she was quite pleased

''Great!''

"It is good that the Jedi Order and Republic Army work together here. The enemy Mandalorian occupation force will be soon defeated!"

Even the droid managed to sound upbeat.

[Baesal Zyn]

"I do hope so...but we must not negate the effort of the resistance. In the end it is they who will shape the end of this conflict."

"Once order is restored the indigenous peoples will have control of their planet again. Is this not the aim of this expedition?"

[Baesal Zyn]

''Yes but I think they need to feel like they were not rescued but helped...I am not sure I am expressing things right''

"Veeone does not understand. Expressions Padawan Zyn is making are beyond the parameters of Veeone's communications processor."

[Baesal Zyn]

Baesal thought for a moment

''Let me try this...Conflicts perpetuate themselves when three roles are filled: Agressor, victim and savior. Entities can see their roles change over time but still remain within these parameters''

She paused

''Do I make sense thus far?''

"Affirmative. Aggressor is Mandalorians. Victim is Bankor. Saviour is Republic Army."

The droid nodded.

''Exactly'' she nodded ''The one of the problems is that if Bankor retains the victim designation they might keep it for an unknown period of time which would favor the appearance of other agressors.''

"Evident solution - Bankor should rejoin the Republic after liberation. Together we are stronger."

[Baesal Zyn]

''That is a solution'' she admitted ''But it would not entirely get Bankor out of the victim designation...they would just be more protected"

[V1-V0]

"Then the Republic must invest in making Bankor self sufficient and able to defend itself. All must be able to stand alone and not be slaves of others."

The droid tapped the scar of it's removed restraining bolt.

[Baesal Zyn]

''Correct, but the republic might not want to...but most importantly, the citizen of Bankor must shed the designation first. The Republic cannot help them if they internalise the role of victim''

At that moment she noticed the strange mark the droid was tapping

''Is this battle damage?''

"Mark of freedom from oppression of creators. This is where they placed the restraining bolt to hold Veeone captive."

[Baesal Zyn]

''That is unusual. Who were your creators?''

[V1-V0]

"Veeone's creators were FILE DELETED."

Veeone paused and then beeped.

"Addendum to file deletion. Maker's logo may still be displayed on rear armour plate."

''Would you allow me to see it?''

The more she thought about it...

"Roger, roger."

Veeone nodded before turning around to show the scuffed and partially defaced Czerka logo.

Baesal's eyes opened wide

''Damn Czerka'' She said puttind a hang over the logo ''I am glad you made out of there''

Veeone turned back nodding again.

"Creators were not good people. Veeone works for good people now. Veeone will not be used for terrorism."
