Luth took a deep breath, closing her eyes. Things looked bleak, and it seemed like she was trapped in her situation with Baras. Even if she wanted to escape, even if she wanted to tell someone, what would they do? What could they do? Should she just abandon her friends, the ones he had the most influence over? And if she left, he'd inevitably go after the people she's close to here, too. He'd shown well enough that he had agents in the Republic.

She rested her face in her hands, reaching out, trying to feel the shape of the future...

She has a vision, she can see a bright flash in the distance and then a great deal of pain. So many voices snuffed out in an instant, so many lost in one moment. It does not feel immediate to her and yet she feels the psychic feedback of the loss through her mind.

Tomorrow, if this is as the future should be, millions would die.

Luth's hand snapped over her mouth as the vision faded, a wave of nausea washing over her at the backlash from the death... so much of it. What was that...?

Arali had entered the room while Luth was lost in her vision. Not the first time this had happened, and it seldom ended well, so she put some mild tea to boil.

When Luth came out of it and her hand went to her mouth, though, Arali snapped into motion and brought the waste bin over to her as fast as she could. She didn't bother with words; those would come when Luth was ready, and instead just rubbed her back and let her get the sick out.

Luth leaned gratefully on the edge of the bin, waiting to see if her stomach would genuinely try to empty itself. The expulsion, despite a couple of false starts, never came, though, and she was simply left breathing heavily with the taste of bile at the back of her mouth. "... That was... worse than usual," she finally said quietly. "Thanks..."

Arali stayed where she was for a moment, in case it started back up again.

"You wanna talk about it?" she asked, her tone making it quite clear 'no' would be fine.

She nodded a little bit. "I saw a bright flash, and... There was so much pain, but it was so brief. Millions died in an instant..." She replied quietly.

Arali held Luth for a while, because there wasn't much else she could do. "I'm sorry," she offered.

She sighed and nuzzled her gently, finding her way to put her forehead against Arali's. "It's all right... I just wish I knew what it was all about."

Arali took a moment to consider how to answer, but she can't think of anything other than being direct.

"Try not to think too hard about it. Sight is... probably the most dangerous power. It's so immediate, so real, that it's led a lot of Jedi into really bad decisions. And some visions are less meaningful than they seem. Once you start looking through time, it stops having a lot of meaning, so sometimes when something feels like an instant, it's really a period of time, linked by some common event or situation. Maybe it was just an echo of the war?"

She shook her head. "No... It's an event. Whatever it's related to, it's going to happen tomorrow."
