Bombs Over Bankor - planning

Postby Rav Devaroo » Mon Jun 04, 2018 6:20 pm

I figured this would be helpful but it isn't a claim on a spot as there are plenty of folks who haven't been in an event yet.

However, if folks are keen to go for the bomb removal then Rav has 3Y+1G and also removes setback on Mechanics checks, he's also got 6 soak. Perception is just base 2G though.

I remembered that Baesal has a decent perception with 2y and 1g. She has good defenses but not much wounds. She'll have to pack on storm if she goes.

If we don’t take out Tano now, she comes back for the final boss fight, right? I’m not good at either of the things, so it’s not my call which one to pick, but that seems like something to keep in mind.

I think that's a possibility (65% chance I believe?), however we really need to dig ourselves out of the Trust hole, and letting the power plant blow up is another big hit.

With 2y 2g on Gunnery I might be useful in vehicle combat. And in normal combat on long ranges for significant dps.

Please disable the bombs.

The Trust loss would be too painful.

Losing the power-plant nearly undoes all the effort put into the Fish-event to gain Trust. We *really* don't want to be losing even more since we got off to a rough start on D1, and it would be nice to get rid of the Setbacks.

I am still for taking down the honcho. Addresses the root problem, not the symptoms?

And if we choose to take down the guy our trust falls even further. We need to get above 2, and ignoring this puts us closer to zero which hurts everyone and lowers our power every Ic day.

I'm usually all for kill the big bad, but in this instance we have to save the plant

If the current Trust-level was in a much better place, then I'd say go for the Mando-commander. But it's not, and I will strongly advocate for not dropping Trust further unless we really have to.

Having an intact power plant can also be useful to us as well as we take Control over more territory.

In general, games like this seems to require more cooperation between players to achieve common goals, and if possible I would prefer to see the efforts of the majority of players trying to easen the burden of penalties being applied to not be undone. Busting the Power Plant will undo a lot of hard work.

Oooh, you're right, I'd misremembered and thought it was certain rather than a die roll. That makes saving the plant even more attractive. Trust now vs. a 2/3 chance of bad stuff later is probably worth it, since we can make that trust earn interest for us. :D

I'm not awesome at either thing though (and was in an event), so I can merely kibitz.

Baes would probably be great, Rav could make short work of the bombs too, Galen sees all the things... who else has Cunning and/or Int?

Not sure if we have more Cunning people... Zhao has high Int, but not sure of Mechanics/Computers.

I know yo have some Mechanic skill too?

My Cunning and Intelligence are each 3, but I don't have any of the Skills for disarming the bombs. I have a rank and a bonus in Perception, though.

I have 3y1g for mechanics. Passable, probably only about even odds of disabling at Hard with a setback. But no perception at all.

Two excellent mechanics might be enough to take out 4 bombs in 6 rounds? If there's not a ton of moving to get between them, and the perception-ers can cover them from enemy attacks as well.

Can I recommend Galen, Rav, Baes and +1 for muscle?

If need be, I have 3 Cunning. For some reason I decided that was important. Again, boat load of wounds. But I would rather see people with actual skilled perception and skills go in first.
