Could just be a difference in how much Zeal is shown. A lot care, but there are certainly a few that are really outspoken about their caring.

Apart from the corruption plot line (which clearly has roots not just in the Republic, and hey, villains gonna villain) the Republic PCs and NPCs have come across as pretty white hat to me?

Chase, Garth, and Jax’s D4 rescue mission is a great example.

I suppose for me it's also a general feeling of incompetence and corruption from republic forces.

Though that's also to give us Pc's some plot points. But we do have a group of smugglers, Sith running around Assassinating people and freely walking around our base, corrupt SIS members planting transmitters in our secure facilities, Crime lords selling vital information of our operations, members of the resistance aiming to assassinate political rivals. Not to mention the fact we walked into a ambush day 5, and most of the events are reactionary in nature. We hardly ever go on the offensive.

Don't get me wrong, I am greatly enjoying the game. I'm just pointing out reasons I think people might be a bit disillusioned with the republic,

I think I can understand that point, as I think since about hte Night Raid, it feels the R&R has been on the reactive front?

I think that is just a general role playing conceit though, and actually emulates events in the online game as well. In general the players are the heroes.

Reactionary probably, and we can adjust that but Star Wars, to me, has never been about realism but pulpy space melodrama and action.

I cheer for badass Twi'leks as they go against Oola paradigm.

And in all my bias I actually enjoy the fact that dirtier, corrupting sides of war are emphasised over some patriotic narratives of glorious advances. To draw comparison from Fallout, I prefer the Wasteland reality rather than a gameplay out of Vault-Tec commercials.

I mean just to be real here the Mandalorians allow you guys to run all over the battle areas... but again for role playing conceit it would be boring to sit in the base every day all day. Dramatic incompetence is on both sides.

Having deployed, yeah it gets old.

I've been largely absent and out of the loop, but I think the game feels like a Republic story. You know... bad stuff is happening and all the 'good guys' are trying to fix it. Lots more altruism and general decency than a Korriban/Nar Shaddaa game which is predominately nihilist egocentric power games. The Sith machinations and corruption storylines in this game seem to be things brought in from returning players with existing storylines moreso than the main thrust of the game.

Delmi is on the disillusioned side of things coming in, but she's been pleased to see there are plenty of decent folks around too and that the Republic seems to be the same decent 'idea' that her dad had cherished before they kicked him out.

With 20-30 active players there's bound to be lots of variety and different stuff going on. Main events feel really Pubby though; which is good.

On this note: I'm sorry on my part about the reactionary events. For Session 2, I was going for a more "Empire Strikes Back" feel where the Republic is put onto the back foot by a pretty insane woman with the cleverness to enact some insane plans.

I'm not sure if it's any reassurance but Session 3 I intend on her being more on the defensive. She's lost favor due to her bizarre cruelty and her arrogance has led to information on her operations being leaked to the Republic.

But also: it was also along my intentions to have corruption there. The difference is, you guys are the Republic heroes and you rise above it! But I suppose there is some dramatic incompetence going around.

I don't think there is anything wrong with how things have been progressing I know for myself I would have been real bored if it had been all bright shiny republic forever type stuff. Some grit keeps the story interesting, plus I think star wars is full of good guys forced to do bad things, bad guys doing the right thing and becoming good guys and plenty of corruption. All in all I'm liking how its shaking out and I hope my story line ends up the way I see it going in my head but who knows what'll happen.

This is pretty much me as well - the game is pretty interesting, and I'm enjoying all aspects of it (even if as normal I've brought someone who doesn't seem to fit the model for the game :lol: )

I'm very interested in seeing how the game goes

I for one am totally fine with how things have been going from the GM's side of things with the plots and events, and figured things would change in the narrative sense as we gain more power/trust/control.

I might be somewhat less than happy with some attitudes to sabotage for the Republic from the player side but so far I feel the GMs have stepped up to keep that in check.

All in all, I'm having a great time and I don't feel like the Republic has been forced to hold the idiot ball or rendered incompetent (like I've seen of other factions in other forum-games).

I've not seen much of this so they must be doing very well!

The coordination in this game has been fantastic - I've really enjoyed following the OOC threads and seeing how they go.

Don’t think anyone’s sabotaging stuff. Different folks are playing different angles. By in large everyone is contributing to the story in their own way. More flavor the better.

That's what I thought. The only thing I can think of was the job me and Jax took but I don't see a GM offered plot thing as players sabotaging.

OOC - I love the way it's all been put together and understand the reasons and appeal for the pick one destination thing

IC - Garth just feels like we brought a knife to a gun fight. He feels a little frustrated that they can't help everyone.

Veeone is completely gung ho and expressively happy about the Republic helping Bankor in its time of need.

I haven't been reading outside of my own threads at all this game, so I have not seen anything some others have. To me the Republic is doing the Republix thing here!
