"A planet of dorks, then," she concluded with a mock tone of resignation.

Vera looked around with a slight smile on her face. "I'm not sure how these guys feel about Mandalorians, even if we are on the same side."

Niall laughed softly. "Guilty as charged. I don't know if you've had the opportunity to meet Lyseil Panteer, but I rather think that she's at least as dorky as I am."

The smile faded, just a little. Niall stepped closer, his voice going lower. "You helped to liberate their planet. You're a hero, Vera. And everyone will know it, even if I have to build that damn statue myself."

"I saw her from time to time. Never was formally introduced," Vera explained. She glanced around the crowd. "I don't remember her wearing a dorky cape, though."

The Mandalorian lieutenant sighed. "You're right, Captain Alderaan." She fidgeted with her hands inside of her pockets. "I'm sure Zanebry could tell you that I get nervous at these things though. Speaking of him, you two worked together much more than I expected. You two run around in different circles, usually."

Veeone looked strange. It might take folks a few minutes to figure out what was different about the battledroid. Some might spot it immediately.

It was unarmed.

For the first time in weeks there was no enormous blaster rifle in its hands, no grenades attached to the webbing points on its armour, not even a visible knife or club. Its armour still bore the marks of damage it had earned helping liberate this world, burnt paint from the civilian suicide bomber, shallow craters from blaster hits it had taken defending the Valiant Star, deeper pits from the various sniper shots it had received throughout the campaign. On its chest it had mag clamped the bar of medals it had acquired in its short service life in the Republic Army, as regulations required for such celebratory moments and had made some effort to shine up what remained of it's armour paint in an oil bath.

It walked around, congratulating those who had made it through the Liberation of Bankor.

"I saw her from time to time. Never was formally introduced," Vera explained. She glanced around the crowd. "I don't remember her wearing a dorky cape, though."

The Mandalorian lieutenant sighed. "You're right, Captain Alderaan." She fidgeted with her hands inside of her pockets. "I'm sure Zanebry could tell you that I get nervous at these things though. Speaking of him, you two worked together much more than I expected. You two run around in different circles, usually."

"Maybe she should get one." Niall mused.

"You? Nervous?" Niall laughed good-naturedly. "You'll do fine." He shrugged. "And I don't know that we run in all that different of circles. We both have SIS contacts. We both know a lot of the same people. Sometimes I swear, he's at least tried to kiss every woman I know." Niall lips pressed briefly together, his arms crossing in front of his chest.

Niall sighed. "But, most importantly I suppose, we both want what's best for the Republic. For people. That's good enough, isn't it?" He looked at Vera, one eyebrow going up.

Aran snapped back upright, put his hands in his sleeves, and appeared outwardly more like his usual self. His smile, however, was exuberant. "Perhaps your training has been more eventful than mine, but this is the first time I have been tasked with anything as weighty as liberating a planet, and the first time that any duty I have been assigned has gone so spectacularly well." He tilted his head to the right. "So, how does it feel?"

Baesal took a moment to ponder the question

''I supposes it feels good...but the victory is overshadowed by a few other things.''

Azura had avoided most of the attention, staying to the outside with her arm bandaged up tightly and numerous wounds still clearly visible on her with the dress she was wearing. She was happy to just sip her drink for now, not looking for anyone in particular.

Rav saw her and walked over, spring an opportunity to relax a bit. "Hey Sabine, nice suit! Wanna drink a beer with me?" He looked over the custom armour with an expert's appreciative eye.

"With you? Always sir." She smiled, and turned allowing him to see her armor. "Figured the people might get used to this on their side. Hopefully. Or I'll get beaten to death. Either way, fun times."

Taking a break from the music, Lyseil spotted Azura.

"Hey, Azura!" she said with bright enthusiasm as she came closer. "I'm so glad to see you made it!"

The bright enthusiasm was met with a brief glare before Azura shrugged.

"It'll take more than this to kill me. Even if they threw everything at me to try it" another shrug "you're looking more alive than the last time I saw you. Recovered from being shot at?"

"Oh, goodness, yes. That's some time ago too. I was up and working with helping out the survivors of Garig not long after." The enthusiasm was a little curbed as she thought back to that particular incident. Both being shot and the mass destruction the Mandalorians had caused.

"I see you dressed up for Jax tonight too, huh?" Lyseil expertly turned the topic around. "I think he was pretty worried about you - even if you are pretty tough."

[Azura Mora]

"I wore something that wasn't bloodied armour because Jax said I should. Honestly, I hate this. At least I still have my weapons" she looked down at her two guns. She still had her pipe-shaped weapon on her back.

"Yeah, he worries too much as well. I'm no princess" she shrugged "I'm a bit beaten up right now, not really in fighting shape, so good thing this war is over, right? Now you Republic types can go back to your homes with all the plaudits and credits, right?"

Lyseil raised an eyebrow. "If you think most of us were here for a paycheck, I have to tell you that you're mistaken," she chuckled a little. "The Strike Force consisted mostly of volunteers, after all, and didn't come here for any rewards other than to help the people here."

Not that Lyseil wasn't armed herself, but she was not visibly so.

"Oh! I talked to Jax about what you two will be doing after this - and I let him know that if you two decide to start up a business, I'd be happy to give a good word on your behalf if you set up on Alderaan. I'm sure Captain Organa would do the same too."

Azura managed to not roll her eye at the princesses naivety. "Don't know about most of them, but I'm sure you and your Alderaan captain will get plenty of praise for your parts. A job well done and so on."

Damnit Jax, I'm going to kill you. There was a brief moment where her expression had darkened, but she was soon looking...well, neutral. Ish. Mostly.

"Is that so? I'm not sure Alderaan is my ideal choice of settling into a place to work, but if Jax decides that's where we're going I guess I better learn how to do fancy tea parties. I'm guessing you're heading back there pretty sharpish?"

Lyseil shook her head, though some mirth remained in her expression. "Merely a suggestion and an offer." It would be harder to set up a legitimate business with a criminal record, after all, especially with at least one senator on their bad side. "If you'd be up for the fancy tea parties, I'm sure we can arrange that somehow, but... taking a guess, you seem more like you'd prefer to join in on an occassional hunt outdoors."

"As for myself, I hope to return soon, but it will only be a short visit home - I wish to finish my degree, and see what I can do for the recovery-efforts here."

Vera turned a bit pink and looked away at the mention of Zanebry's tendency to kiss women. She swallowed the lump in her throat and put on a smile. "Both are you are good at heart. You two just go about it in different ways."

"Vera," Niall gave her a mock-incredulous look. "Don't you know that pauldrons aren't 'in' on Alderaan right now?"

Watching her reaction, Niall just sighed. That one was pretty well confirmed already. "I know." He said softly. "Believe me, I recognize that there's more than one way to be good."

He gave Vera a curious look. "Is something on your mind, Vera? Something to do with Zanebry? Or has victory just gotten you in a pensive mood?" Niall smiled wryly. "I can understand that. It always does the same to me."

Baesal took a moment to ponder the question

Aran tilted his head to one side. He thought of all of what provided a counterpoint to his own exuberance -- the still-new feeling of his lost and replaced leg, the needless suffering he had seen, the sacrifices of which Galen's memorial represented but a fraction -- and imposed none of them on Baesal, instead offering only the a small, undemanding opportunity of saying "Ah," followed by a pause to take in a passing set of dancers in the parade.

Baesal held a curious expression, thoughful

''What will you do next? Any plans?''

Tethys turns her head and directs her smile at Jax--it's as subtle as ever but definitely reaches her eyes. "You've pulled out all the stops, I see," she says, looking his fancy suit up and down. "The celebration is everywhere tonight. Just different textures of party, depending on where you stand."

Jax chuckles and shakes "I think thats only somewhat true, right now you're at the party but I'd say you aren't part of the party." Jax shrugged "I suppose that its sort of up to you but if you'd accept I would like another dance. You said you wanted to see what these people were like when they are free." he extends a hand to her "let's go find out." his lips spread into an open grin.

Aran smiled again, observing the crowd. "As my Masters and the Force will." His smile faltered a little. "I hope they will approve. Of how I acted on Bankor, that is. They said that during my last duties I was too reckless..." he tapped his right foot on the ground, with the quiet whrr of servomotors and clank of metal on stone almost entirely drowned beneath the noise of the crowd. "And I came back from that one with all my toes!"

"Hunting? Huh, up on horses and chasing animals, or actual hunting?" Azura asked, slightly curious.

Bet they just put the animals out drugged for you nobles...

"So you're coming back to Bankor? Didn't expect that. I don't plan to ever come back here, place is a mess now!"

"On horses? Goodness no - there's been quite a few centuries since people did that. I don't know what actual hunting is for you, but most hunting on Alderaan is to keep some animal populations under control, as some invasive species either grow out of control for their numbers to be sustained, or pose a great risk to other species." Lyseil wasn't quite sure what Azura might be thinking, but she was only happy to answer the questions she might have.

"I don't really plan om coming back here, but if it happens," she shrugged, "I hope to persuade my House to lend some and in the recovery."

Veeone continued to walk around the celebration. Emphasis on walk . . . as it tried it's best not to patrol the celebration. It would nod or salute to those organics it knew, and greet in binary any other members of the Unity it met.

"Someone never told the Sith that," she mused.

"I suppose I don't know how much of a victory this is. I don't like there being loose ends with Varo's relatives running around. It only seems to strengthen his original motive." She gave a shrug. "Like living on through his descendants, or something. And it's your goal to make things better between the Mando'ade and the Republic, right?"

Gently, Niall shook his head. "The goal of the task force was to liberate Bankor and aid its people. There's no doubt that we've succeeded at that. We don't need to utterly destroy our enemies to win." Niall grimaced. "Although some of them probably are complicit in the atrocities we've seen. Hopefully we'll be able to round them up."

"It is my goal." Niall nodded. "I'd still like to try." His eyebrows went up. "Think you can help with that?"
