[Illyria Acaran]

Illyria winced and pressed her face harder against the ground as, somehow, the number of blaster bolts in the air seemed to magnify. Glancing over to make sure her boss was safely behind cover, her face twisted into horror as several crimson streaks slammed into his armored chest and the scent of seared flesh permeated her nostrils more than she ever cared to know. With a bit of a squeak, she pulled out another needle and slammed it harder than she should into Jax's thigh, then scrambled across the ground to her fellow Pantoran. As she did before, she connected the retrieval harness to his torso and desperately pushed the recall button until it began moving.

Jax winced as the unexpected needle slammed into his leg but nodded to the pantoran "Much appreciated Miss Acaran, I owe you dinner if we make it out of this alive." he shouted with a smile despite the hellish conditions around him. "Next chance you get you get yourself in that transport got it?"

[Dapper Dog]

The mandalorians take aim and fire at Jax but instead damage one of the cable lines on the ship causing it to shift in the air… Oddyn enarly falls but catches himself now dangling by one hand holding what is left of the damage cable line.

The rest hits the ground with a thump… there is only one working line left.

OOC: 2 Triumphs used to destroy cable line and knock Oddyn prone, dangling will take an Atheletics check which is an action to pull himself up. 4 Advantage used to remove Ranged Defense from Illyria. Last Republic slot.

Jax looked around things were going to shit fast he saw Oddyn hanging from the remains of the rope and his 2 companions still on the ground. They needed something any thing to happen right now to save them the mandolorians were advancing and shooting they couldn't hold them off. It was certainly time for a miracle.

((OOC: Flip a destiny for something miraculous to happen at the right time? The resistance transport exploding buying us time or making their next volley much more difficult? ))

[Dapper Dog]

The resistance transport exploded in a shower of metal and slag, the Mandalorians shielding themselves, the smoke and flames giving the Republic some cover but not much. Still their transport got hit with more damage as Oddyn dangled by one hand… thankfully the Gods saw fit to give him a spare or he would have fallen to his doom in the flames.

Lelia having been brought back by a med tech on board sensed her friend’s fear and reached out with the Force… it was desperate pushing herself this far… but her anger and fear pulled the surprised Thazos onto the Transport before she collapsed.

OOC: Lelia used Move to pull Thazos onto the ship, one dark pip to activate, another to increase to Silhouette 1. She collapsed after that due to Strain. Destiny Flip used for cinematic things… explosions whee. Transport has taken 8 damage. Round 3.

Jax's features split into a wide smile as the stars aligned, the transport exploded showering the battlefield in debris, Thazos got jerked into the transport and he saw Oddyn miraculously flip himself into the ship and grab the rope with one hand and signalling for them to get on. Jax dashed into action grabbing Illyria along the way "Hold on Miss Acaran we're getting out of here!" he yelled over the chaos. Dirt kicked up in tall gouts as blaster fire scored the ground around them. Jax ignored it as they approached the remaining rope clipping the two of them together his hand slipped around her waist as he pulled the reporter into him he looked her in the eyes "let's get out of here." and he smiled as they ascended into the ship with the help of their large comrade.

Naya looked over shoulder and said, “We really kicked the hundark nest! Hold onto your butts!”

She brings the transport high up into the air arcing through the night sky, it was a FUBAR mission for the Reistance but the Reopublic saved their collective hides… the stakes were high and the injuries were plenty but somehow against all odds victory was found.

Jax patted Oddyn on the arm "good work back there, I was right about you. Good guy to have on our side." Durasay was out cold and looked terrible, Lelia was hurt and unconscious, two unconscious soldiers and Mr. Kin himself "So what exactly were you guys thinking with this operation? We told you it was too risky."

“Varo killed my sister, honor demanded I try,” Thazos said coldly as he took a seat.

[Jax Dolross]

"Does honor demand you have to do it like an idiot?" Jax quipped back too strung out from almost dying to care about niceties "You almost got this whole squad of people killed for no reason, hell we barely made it outsaving you. How does it help the resistence if you die? You're too important to this thing to be taking stupid risks."

[Thazos Kin]

“So you would do nothing if someone you hated was found and you had a chance to end them,” he countered sternly.

“It was a risk, we all volunteered.”

[Oddyn Vizsla]

"Don't patronise me, Di'kut. Or that man. You know shit about honour and vengeance apparently." Oddyn snapped, clearly out of sync with Jax's peculiar fraternising of the moment, or the way he criticised Kin. He looked at Thazos though, and nodded firmly in understanding of that sentiment. "I'd say organise your attempts better, Zabrak, but yesterday I was as much a fool to try to take a random chance as you've been today." He patted the loose sleeve of his armour.

[Thazos Kin]

He looked at the Mandalorian and nodded in agreement with the man. He was unsure of how to feel about that and just said, “I played the fool tonight, I let me rage get the best of me.”

[Jax Dolross]

Jax shook his head at Oddyn's snapping "wasn't patronizing you helped make sure we got everyone out and thinned their numbers considerably."

He turned his attention back to Thazos "I would do something smarter, work on an operation that's going to further this war, weaken the mandalorian position continue working with my allies that have the same goal. The republic being here doesn't mean shit if you guys keep fighting like rabid dogs who have no support. That may have been necessary before but now we are more effective if we combine our efforts and fight smarter."

[Thazos Kin]

Thazos wasn't of a mind to argue and just glared and then looked down at Lelia and his team. It had gone sideways all too fast, but he didn’t feel any more important than anyone else. Maybe the man was right, maybe not but the truth was that this was his fault and that last bit stung harder than any blaster bolt.

Oddyn spat some blood out of the transport. "Happens. You live to try again. I hope to get him first though." He then glanced at Jax. "You may be getting some things right, flyboy, but vengeance is a rite. It doesn't cut it if you're not there to deal the killing blow."

Jax just sighed and clipped himself into a chair he knew that arguing the point with Odd was useless honor and rites were his blood and bone Jax cared about long term things like wars only caring about battles as the ends to that mean. "no one kill should matter when its a planet on the line" he said before popping in some ear buds and listening to some music as they made their way back to camp.
