Geared up to get a better look at the Viridian Sea to understand more of the area and the threat of the Blight and those that had been too affected by it, Lyseil started small by not venturing towards those dangerous areas yet. And since it was usually safety in numbers, she had pinged a message to GB-PK9 to join her! The droid gave her such a good impression the first time, she figured he'd be great here in the jungle-forest too!

The droid did indeed receive the ping. He was glad to be needed. He'd considered trying to return to the blight, but no one had countermanded the other organic's order.

This was also a much more fitting location for the droid than an abandoned Casino. Maybe he would put on a better performance.

He trotted along to the arranged location, his head still held low and ears tilted.

"Good morning, GB!" Lyseil greeted warmly, holding a hand out for the droid-dog like she had the last time. "It's so much more exciting with a rainforest than a desert, huh?"

The Alderaanian human seemed to be showing all signs of human-cheerfulness.

The droid approached, head lowered, and bumped her outstretched hand gently.

"This area is much more acceptable to this unit's purpose and function. Query: What do you seek, Designation: Lyseil?"

If it was possible for a droid to seem deflated, GB definitely seemed to be today.

D'awww! was her first thought as his head bumped her hand. Just like how her uncle's hunting dogs would do!

"I was thinking we could get an impression of what the flora and fauna is around here. So we can compare that to the data of those scouting the Blight," Lyseil explained, but she did grow a bit concerned. "Is something wrong, GB?"

The droid looked back at her when she mentioned the Blight.

"This unit was tasked to find specimens in the area designated as Blight. When it attempted to execute said task, it failed."

It scanned the area carefully.

"There currently seems to be less opposition in this area, however."

"Yes-yes, this area is said to be safer. So it's a better place to start, I think!"

She was a little concerned for the dog. Even if it was a droid. "When you say failed... what happened?"

It paused it's normal search runtimes and looked up at Lyseil.

"There was a woman there. She stated the area was not to be searched without a cost of blood. This unit lacked the blood to pay such cost."

It looks at it's hip a moment.

"The organic also commented on the marking on my exterior."

"Hmm... that is concerning... it must've been one of the fallen monks, or maybe someone afflicted by the sickness here," she thought out loud before her eyes looked at GB's hip. Kneeling down next to the droid, she took a closer look at the mark.

"Do you remember what she said?"

The droid paused a moment, a recording playing of the words.

"“I am Iyana Miu, first among the Aznuri and rightful Master of the Way. You bear the marking of pain, so you know that we value Strength and Wisdom. Now run along little droid,”

It looks at Lyseil when she refers to the monks.

"This unit observed the woman to be standing upright and healthy. It is confused."

Could this be the fallen sister Mazakin spoke of? Lyseil wondered as she regarded the words.

"Hmm... not a sickness as such. There's something here that affects people - turns them bad and violent," she tried to explain to GB. "But, you did good in recording those words from this Iyana Miu! Now we know a little more!" Acting more out of instinct and habit, Lyseil couldn't stop herself from patting GB on the head.

The droid's tail slightly wags as a response runtime activates from the patting.

"This unit did good."

It sounded half convinced.

"Was there anything specific you sought here, Designation: Lyseil?"

There was a sharp whiz and impact of a blaster bolt, followed by a scream! The two could inspect by going through the trees or flee, less they be shot themselves...

"Hm, nothing specific as such... I admit I like to look around and see if I find anything of interest. And it's good to have an extra set of eyes! I think you'll be good to have along for this, GB!" Lyseil dusted off her knees as she got ready to go.

"What kind of specimens were you looking for, by the way? Maybe we'll find so---!

Her words were cut off as she dove for cover at the sudden sounds.

"... What was that?!" she whispered, looking around.

The droid's ears perk immediately, and it's head swivels.

"That was a weapon discharge followed by a vocal exclamation of indeterminable meaning."

It looks into the distance.

"Analyzing"

It paused a moment, trying to assess the situation further.

Lyseil stayed close to GB, keeping her head down as instructed, as she tried to see what had happened, but the trees were thick here...

"Sh... should we sneak closer?"

In a clearing, a small group could be found. Another blaster bolt slammed into a tree that a woman was curled up behind. Next to her lied a dead man, his head sizzled by the bolt. "Help! Somebody, please!" she screamed. The two others were also hurdled.

The canine unit lowered itself as it stayed near Lyseil.

"The organics seem to be in imminent danger, Designation: Lyseil. Should I attempt to retrieve them?"

Lyseil tried to see where the attack was coming from, as yet another blaster bolt went through the air.

She was not prepared to enter into a firefight now, but she was ready to help! "Let's help them, GB. Can you see the shooter?"
