Cole, still marked with blood himself, spotted the stain and narrowed his eyes slightly. “I’m doctor Ormont, do you need assistance?”

Cole bandaged what he could, but his scans suggested deeper problems. “You should stop by the medical facilities at our base when you can, but this should keep you going.”

With the senator apparently having finished talking for now, Veeone addressed Niall again.

"Yes, this droid can provide battlefield medical support while fulfilling it's primary role as an Assault Specialist."

Nodding, Cole let the Gand go about his way. He could hear V1-V0 reporting to someone and the surgeon pushed up his spectacles to massage the bridge of his nose in exasperation. I should caution the medical staff not to let that thing into the facilities, he pushed a hand through his curls and resumed offering water to (mostly) shirtless workers.

Azura chuckled to herself, letting Jax deal with the stupid senator and looking at Niall with the weird droid.

"Medical assault specialist sounds like an interesting thing. Firing medical aid at people?"

Veeone turned to face the new human to address it.

"Medical attention requires physical contact. Cannot be done at range, Unknown Human. Combat protocols strongly encourage closing range fast as part of assault specialty. It is assumed rest of squad keeps pace with primary assault droid so medical assistance can be administered once combat is complete."

Niall's lips quirked. "Indeed not. It's important to keep them separate."

He gave the droid a nod. "Of course. One can't simply fire a stim from a gun." He murmured, flashing Azura a quick smile. "What an absurd suggestion, uh, unknown human." He hadn't caught her name, come to think of it.

"Azura" she corrected both of them "and sure you can. It's easy, you just need good aim and medication that releases on impact. Fire the stimpack, needle goes into arm, medicine releases. Sheesh, haven't you ever heard of thinking outside the box?"

Veeone held up one mechanical hand and extended the stimpack injectors built in to the fingers.

"Veeone's applicators are fixed to short range function only, known human Azura of unknown rank."

"Guess you need upgrading then" Azura shrugged

"That certainly would be outside the box." Niall said dryly. He glanced at Azura, lips quirking. "Perhaps you should be in R&D. They could name it after you. The Azura Stim Deployment System?"

He looked back to V1. "I'm sure you do fine as is." Niall assured the droid. "How many years have you been active? Is this your first campaign?"

"Seven hundred and eighty seven days since activation. Veeone has participated in three campaigns before this one. One planetary and two starship based."

"I'm not working for any department, I'm a free woman and intend to be forever" Azura scoffed at the idea of 'R&D' "and yeah, first warzone but not my first fight. It's my first pipe fitting though, as much of a waste that was."

He nodded to V1. "Those are pretty good odds." He said. "I'll take them. Ummm... you said you were in starship campaigns? In what role? Are you a gunner or... can you act as a surgical assistant?"

Cole moved closer, interested in what the droid would say. Apparently the Captain hadn’t read V1-V0’s dossier.
