D7, EA, Open- My processors for a charge port

Feeling the drain of having to use only onboard batteries during ze's voyage, ze sought out the medical bay, knowing that they often came equipped with droid recharge stations of sufficient maintenance and quality for ze's standards, due to their use of medical droids. It was downright infuriating how some meatbeasts would refuse to maintain those posts correctly and ze was not interested in spending half of ze's time maintaining and repairing the port prior to use. Giving a short greeting to the medical droid on staff, ze was directed to a charging port and set themselves up.

Now, to power down or run some computations while charging? Always the question. Computations it was.

Sabine straggled into the medbay, ready for her next surgery. She waved at the droids, all of them, and flopped onto the bed, then sighed.

"Another day, another fun session, eh all?" She said through forced cheer.

The R4 unit watched the being stumble into the bay. She seemed to be familiar and on terms with the other droids in the bay. Listening in, the droid asks *Do you require extensive maintenance?*

"Oh? Yeah. You could say that. And someone shooting an asshole with a disruptor. And more pain meds. And some booze." She stretched out. "And.... something to get rid of this kriffing humility. You? Are you a new medic droid?"

Ze's chassis head swivels, but ze chalks up some of the ranting to a previous matter ze does not know of.

*I am not in possession of any of those things. And no, I am merely borrowing a charge port. I find that the other ports are often less well maintained, but that the medical charge ports are always in good condition. Obviously prioritized.*

Shifting slighty, the droid angles their ocular port towards the other being. *I am R40XY, a new arrival here, searching for mechanical work for compensation. You are?*

"Sergeant Sabine Kryz- Kelborn, I mena, Sabine Kelborn." She let out a groan. "Oh? Found anything useful yet Roxy?" she asked by way of small talk.

As they spoke, the medical droid started the surgery. "Hey Joe." Greeted Sabine the droid happily as it plucked away at her. "You almost resemble a sentient not on the brink of death."

Ze could not understand why so many seemed to enjoy shortening ze's designation in such a way, but perhaps it was inevitable. *Not as of yet. But it is early in the diurnal cycle.*

Ze watches the procedure and the interaction between the being and the droid. This was not how ze was used to seeing meatbeasts and droids interact. Perhaps this trip would be a worthwhile one.

Sabine waved at the med droid. "Thanks Joe, you're the best."

"Sergeant Kelborn, are you keeping up your physio therapy?"

"...yes, of course." Replied the soldier nervously.

"You're doing it badly, no signs are visible. If you wish to not fall on your face, amp it up." The medical droid replied stoically.

"Yeah, sure Joe." She seemed a bit mortified. "Sorry Roxy, you were saying?"

Having ze's own limited experience with deception, even ze could tell that the soldier was not being completely truthful. *It seems that you require more strenuous exertion for your maintenance Sergeant Sabine Kelborn. How were you injured?*

"My leg was disintegrated during a chase." She stated simply, before eyeing the droid. "Getting used to the new leg still."

Ze eyes the leg and notes its new functionality. *Ah. I see. You are fortunate to have retained as much of your body as you did, if you met with a disintegrator.*

The processors start humming in the droid's brain as ze looks upon the leg. *I wonder if there would be a way to add attachments or modifications for different functionalities to such a device. Or give it ways to add new options to it. If one must have a different limb that one is accustomed to, perhaps it would be best to find new ways to optimize its function.*

"Mhm, one limb is enough." Her eyes went wide. "Modifications? Like what? Vibroblades? Flamethrower? Microrockets?"

R40XY ponders. *I would have to look into the schematics. One might put a concealed weapon inside such a device however with little difficulty I suspect. A flamethrower would be ill advised as well as difficult to aim. A tracker could be installed or some kind of other small device. The possibilities are quite large.*

"Oh, I could keep a grenade there!" Sabine, why would you... oh, the drugs.

The droid shook its headpiece back and forth. *I would not recommend this course of action. A grenade could be jostled and go off. However, a knife in a sheath might work well. Or perhaps some kind of small, non lethal device.*

"Non lethal.... like a stun grenade?" Roxy's circuits were put to the limits!

R40XY had difficulty computing whether the being was attempting a joke or simply did not know what non lethal was. *I would recommend something more like a set of lockpicks or perhaps an emergency com or a small vibro knife. Something that could get one out of a difficult situation, if one were to be in one.*

"HM, no grenades... a non lethal knife! Yes! I'll get a vibro knife, run electricity through it, and there! Problem solved! You're a genius Roxy!" The woman was not at full capacity, that much was obvious.

The droid took a moment to process this. *Perhaps, when you are done with surgery, we can discuss any commissions you may have. We would not wish them to be a hasty decision.*

"Yeah, sure! I'll make some drawings for you!" She seemed to be wildly happy. "You make things for sentients? Is that why you're here?"

R40XY could not tell if this was how many sentients were or just this particular one. *I create and craft things for many types of beings. I also repair things and droids. I am here searching for work.*

"Oh? Work sounds interesting. Found anything so far? Building a rocket launcher, or something?" She slowly sat up, and continued talking to the droid.

R4 lets out a small beep. *Nothing as yet. I have not exhausted all possibilities though. It is only my first day at this location. I also repair ships, so I have reason to suspect that my skills may be needed at some point.*
