The Ebon Wastes is a region some three thousand kilometers across of blasted wasteland where very little grows and sees very little precipitation. It is a dangerous region where no one goes, superstitious natives claim the region is controlled by a fierce xenophobic people called the Sand Eaters. They are not a native people but may pre-date the Republic occupation of the planet when the first settlers arrived.
