She gave a girlish grin and returned to her food. "Right, I should probably finish this and get back to work."

“Of course. Duty calls.” He put his flask away and ran a hand through his hair. Getting to his feet, he picked up his tray of uneaten food, “take care, Sergeant.”

She blinked in surprise that he was leaving, but... well, maybe he wasn't feeling so well?

"Ah... you too, captain. Don't push yourself too much, ok?" she did her best to give a big encouraging smile!

“I’ll take it under advisement,” he’d taken her comment to mean that she intended to leave in short order, and he saw no need to push food he didn’t want around his tray any longer than necessary.
