It had taken a bit of leg work to find her, especially since he was trying to be a bit discrete about it. Still he managed after a few hours.

Adjusting his hat he strolled into the rec room, cutting a odd figure in his more formal dress, especially considering the room was filled with soldiers. Once inside he'd pause and glance around the area. Wondering where exactly Vera might be hiding.

Vera was lounging on a couch alongside another Mandalorian watching one of the video displays, though the other was not one of her own. The other one was a Clan Itera woman and thus far she did not seem impressed with the Ordo's antics. "Come on, I have some standards. I don't want to be serving alongside some psychopath from Kryze or Varad." She took a sip from her bottle of beer, gave it a disappointed glance, and then took another sip anyways. "The media is such full of crap sometimes."

"Joining your group is not incredibly glorious anyways. I thought you had joined because you wanted to be famous across the Republic."

"Well, at least all of you seem to know me." She took another sip and then shook her head, as if mad she had forgotten that it was poor liquor. "Maybe I ought to challenge the old man to a duel."

"And lose any respect left for you when you lose to an old man?" the Itera teased.

The lieutenant groaned and leaned back in the couch. "I don't even know why I'm giving you my time."

"You know why, Vera." The warrior of the Crusader's Schism chuckled."You know why."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"You're actually drinking that?" Zanebry said casually as he strolled towards the two women. He'd learned enough mandolorian in the last year and a half to catch parts of their conversation, but not all of it. "You know they source that stuff from the lowest bidder... Don't you?" He continued as he reached into his pocket and pulled forth a flask.

Z would offer the Ordo woman a crooked smile, before opening the flask and taking a slow sip, offering it in her direction a moment later. "I stopped by Corellia on the way in." He said in way of explanation.

"Zanebry?" Vera nearly spilled over her beer before correcting herself to sit upright. "You came all this way and you didn't let me know you were coming?"

The other woman looked over his attire. "Another one of your Irregulars then, Vera?" she asked with a grin.

"Nothing like that, no. A friend." She got to her feet and gave him a small, but warm, smile. "So, it's been awhile. Heard you were playing hero."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"What can I say, I like surprises..." He pursed his lips thoughtfully. "Well, some surprises, there are only so many times people can say. 'Surprise! Poison gas!' Before you start to get wary about attending a wedding, or any other public function for that matter."

He offered the Mandolorian woman on the couch a smile. "Aye, Vera and I have know each other a while. Back before her new gig." turning his eyes back to Vera he chuckled. "I wouldn't really call it playing hero, just doing what I can, where I can. It doesn't pay too well, but it keeps me busy."

""How are you though? Arm treating you well?" Z asked, a look of concern in his eyes for a moment.

"If it was a personal project, then I call that playing hero," Vera said with a solemn smile. She then looked to her mechanical arm and flexed the fingers. "It's powerful, that's for sure. No problems with it's functionality but it's also a reminder of a failure of mine." She shifted her gaze back to Zanebry. "Keep a safe distance. Flamethrowers are nasty business."

The Itera Mandalorian looked back and forth at the two others from the couch. Eventually, she got to her feet with her eyebrows perked. "I'm going to go find something else to do," she admitted before turning heel.

Vera watched her go and then looked back at the man. "She likes to keep to our people," she explained, "To be honest, her Basic is terrible!"

"Well, I guess I have then. Been playing hero that is, as I still work for myself, more or less." He watched the one as she left, before moving his gaze back to Vera.

"To be honest, so is my Mando'a, but I've been improvong... At least a little." Z said with a easy chuckle. "I think she said something about you not having a statue yet?" He asked, as he worked his way towards the Mando woman, and more specifically the couch."

"Difference between working for the pay and working for a cause," she said with a soft smirk.

Vera took a seat as well on the other end. "Yeah, something like that. She doesn't exactly approve of me signing up with the Republic officially and all that. There're others like her, but at least she's jovial about it." The Mandalorian woman glanced at her beer but decided not to take a swig that time. "Or at least boisterous, like we so often are."

Settling into the couch, he took another sip from.his flask. "I suppose so." He agreed, once again offering the flask in her direction. "Trade you."

"That's something at least." He offered her a smile. "And if it's any consolation, I think you made a good choice. You're doing some good here."

Vera shot him a smirk and kept the beer on her side. "It's fine, Zanebry."

She looked around the room and then let out a soft sigh. "I only just got here and I feel like I'm not doing enough. There're some rotten ones out there that bring shame to the Mando'ade."

"Suite yourself, if you ever find the need for something a stronger though, you know where to find it." Z offered with a casual smile.

"Aye, I've had a bit of experience with that myself, and if I stubble across any ways you can help I'll let you know. Just don't go sticking your neck out for me, if we end up on a job together."

"Oh, but soldiers aren't supposed to get drunk," she said with a smirk, "That's why they keep us on this... swill."

Vera clenched her mechanical fist to show him the force behind it. "Oh come on, I think you could use a bit of a rescue sometimes. Someone has to bail you out when you get in too deep."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"You can keep to the two drink limit, without it being swill." He offered with a chuckle. "I won't press though, so whatever you prefer. I'll have to practice a few virgin cocktails though, for when you get around to that dance you owe me."

"Maybe." He offered with a shake of his head. "I'd say I never get in too deep, but most seem to think I do, constantly even." Zane smirked. "But hey, I haven't even been shot at once today."

The Mandalorian took a deep breath and looked away. "Oh, Zanebry. That was over a year ago." She fiddled with the bottle in her hand and gave a soft smile. "I really shouldn't. Well, actually, I really can't, but that doesn't mean I don't have your back."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I know, and I won't hold you to it. A man can tease a old friend though can't he?" He brought his flask to his lips, to take a sip. "Just tell me you've got a little bit of use out of the red dress I bought you."

"I know, you solider types have orders to follow. It's bad to get all caught up in other things." He offered her a warm smile. "I'll remember that though, and try not to get into too much trouble., and you know I have your back as well of course."

"That silly thing?" Vera shook her head. "I never really had the chance, now that I think about it. I never had time to go back to Nar Shaddaa for the casinos or anything like that."

She smirked. "Really now? Is that why you roped Captain Organa into 'other things' before?" The woman gave a soft shrug. "I'm not complaining. Nature of my work means that I often go off the books."

[Zanebry Varliss]

He shook his head. "That's sad to hear. Here I was hoping to find out you found yourself someone special. I think you mentioned something about not being single the next time we meet."

Z couldn't help but chuckle at that. "Niall needs some bad habits, he's too clean cut for his own good." He offered her a smile. "Thanks for that, I seem to typically get a lot if complaints when I stick out my neck. It's a pleasant change to not have any."

"Oh, well, I'm not single." Her cheeks turned red uncontrollably and she finally took a long swig from her bottle. "We just don't really do that sort of stuff."

Vera shrugged. "You're talking to a Mandalorian, Zanebry. Our entire culture revolves around sticking out our necks," she stated with a bright grin.

Zane had to smile at that. "So, what you're telling me, is that I have to teach him how to properly romance a lady?" Z asked raising a eyebrow, before bringing his drink to his lips to take a sip. "This means I'm going to have to teach him how to dance too, doesn't it." He mused mostly to himself.

"I suppose you are right there." He replied with a soft chuckle. "Guess I don't have to worry about too many lectures from you then. Well, except if they involve your sister."

"Oh, no, no. That wouldn't work at all." Vera put the bottle down, which was not much of a loss to her. "I don't even know if you two should meet each other, now that I think about it."

The Mandalorian sighed. "She should be here too. Or at least fighting something." She shook her head. "She never makes any sense."

[Zanebry Varliss]

His face took on a expression of faux hurt. "You mean you aren't going to introduce me to your boy friend Vera? Was it something I did?"

"That's not all that unusual, I don't make much sense to my siblings either." He smirked. "Still hope I dont see Thera, any time soon at leTheta, Zane offered Vera a small smile. "No offense intended of course."

Vera gave a sheepish smile. "He's an interesting sort, Zanebry. I think the two of you wouldn't mesh at all." She gave a nervous chuckle. "I don't think he would even bother talking to you."

The younger sister nodded. "Yeah, I guess I wouldn't want to see her in the near future either. She wouldn't ever come to visit and I don't have time to. That leaves only one possibility, one that I don't ever want to do." She looked away. "Clearly because I'd lose, yeah?"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I suppose that is possible." Though from the sound of it he seemed rather dull. "Well, as long as you like him that's good enough, even if he is a interesting sort." He smirked. "I'll try and remember not to talk to him back, should we ever cross paths."

"Don't sell yourself short... Get in close enough, and who knows what could happen." He shook his head. "Not that I ever want to see that happen between the two of you." He'd rather try and attempt the dead himself. Not that such a thing would likely go any well.

"That's not what I meant." She wasn't sure what she had meant. She bit her lip and looked down. "I don't know, Zanebry. I just don't see it going well, you meeting him or whatever."

Vera gave a solemn smile. "Well, she is slippery." She shook her head. "She should be here too. Clan Kryze would be gone in a day."

"Alright, I'll try to keep my distance then." Zanebry offered with a soft smile. "Course would be easier if I knew his name at the very least."

"That would be nice." He agreed with a grin. "If I had the type of money it would take, I might of just tried to hire her."
