He smiled openly at the woman "Would you like to learn? It can be a very fun game." he tapped his finger on his chin "Usually its a gambling game but I'm sure we could find something to wager besides money so it stays a bit more friendly"

She chuckled and nodded. "Sure. I'm a terrible gambler anyway."

[Jax Dolross]

"Have anything pressing going on tonight you need to be sharp for? If not we can make it a drinking game. bet numbers of drinks loser has to do. Not like we aren't going to drink anyway." he says with a chuckle. He says grabbing his drink and waving her over to the small pazaak table in the rec. laying out the two side decks and situating the table deck and motioning for Luth to sit across from him with a flash of white appearing between his lips.

"No more than two drinks here, sadly. Anywhere else I'd take you up on it," she replied with a smile.

[Jax Dolross]

"You on duty? If not I have personal stock with me since I usually like to get around that two drink limit as well. If so we can just play for fun though that takes a bit of the excitement out of the game. You miss some of the spirit if there is nothing on the line."

"You have something? That works for me, then," she agreed as she sat down in their new spot.

[Jax Dolross]

"That I do," he said pulling out a good sized flask "tried and true Corellian whiskey. So here we go." Jax then goes into the rules and how the game works describing the different decks and objectives and such helping her through a couple of test hands so she can see how the game plays.

"You got all that? This should be pretty simple neither of our side decks have any of the fancy cards in them that you have to watch out for." The whole time he spoke softly and smoothly his voice light and friendly. She wasn't the first person he had taught.

((OOC: we don't need to figure out how to actually play Pazaak just figured it could be something they do while chatting.))

"My favorite. You are officially the best," she replied with a happy sigh. Then she turned her attention to learning attentively. "Yeah, I think I'm ready."

He grinned at her "Well i do aim to please." Jax then poured them each a glass and they got down to playing Jax lost a few hands, Luth lost a few the drink was flowing nicely.

"So you have a place you call home? Or you dedicated travel with The Republic?"

[Luth Khalan]

"Pretty much traveling," she replied with a sigh. "I don't really have a permanent home. When we're around each other, I stay with my girlfriend, but that's not often."

[Jax Dolross]

"A girlfriend huh? Shame." He said with a little grin as he lost a hand and took his drinks. "She must be a lucky woman." He dealt out the cards for a new hand.

"So Luth if you could be doing anything, anything in the galaxy anywhere what do you think it would be?" He asked his blue eyes peering over the tops of his cards.

"I'd say she has bad luck," she replied with a chuckle. She considered the idea as she looked back at him. "Living quietly in a little beach house on a backwater planet where I could be happy with someone I love and the rest of the galaxy couldn't touch us. We could keep up with the news via heavily encrypted holonet connection, or we could just let it spin on without us, however we like."

"I'll take her kind of bad luck." Jax retorted with a small chuckle of his own.

Jax was quiet for a bit "interesting, so you're running away from something huh? Or you wish you could."

"Well... I suppose so. I'd just like to be able to live a quiet life without being pulled into whatever intrigue, at least for a while," she explained. "What about you, Jax? What would you be doing if you could do anything?"

[Jax Dolross]

Jax's head was a little fuzzy the game doing it's job of making them drink faster than they think they are. "Hmmm a beach sounds nice I suppose, maybe back home" he looks up at her "right here isn't too bad, checks off a lot of boxes for me." He said with a smirk as he played a winning hand. "I believe those are your drinks miss."

She sighs and take a sip with a smile. "You totally got me. My turn to deal, then," she said, shuffling. "Where's home for you?"

[Jax Dolross]

"Well I'm from Coruscant loved there for the first 16 years of my life. Haven't been back for any long period of time there since. I suppose the Midnight probably qualifies as my 'home' right now."

He affect a faux dramatic tone and raises his glass "the stars are my home, and freedom is my mistress." He finished with a chuckle "or some other drifter nonsense that you might hear."

She chuckled at that. "I barely know what freedom is." She took a look over her cards. "I've visited Coruscant from time to time, but not often."

[Jax Dolross]

Jax shrugged "less of a shit hole compared to a lot of other places I've been. It's not perfect by any means but I don't hate it."

"Surely working for the Republic they offer you at least periods of freedom?" He asked working an eyebrow.

[Luth Khalan]

"Yeah. Chunks every so once in a while. But being let off your leash temporarily is different than being free," she replied.

[Jax Dolross]

Jax made a thinking face for a bit "Well, and excuse me if I'm over stepping, but maybe it's time for you to try something new. I'm sure the private sector could use someone with your skills." He grinned a little "and you'd likely be compensated much better for your work."

"Hmm..." She considered. "You think so?"

"Well if you're a seasoned SIS operative weather its analyst, infiltration or uh" he pauses "other specialties." he said a bit awkwardly the sauce robing him of his usual tact. "Any of those skills are highly prized by corporate interests hell there'd likely be room for you on my crew if you were interested but getting in with a corporation would be better less freedom than running with a crew but more than a military and you would likely have a more stable life style as you'd likely live in one place. You know actually be able to build something." he was rambling.

he chuckled "Sorry I tend to get rambling when I'm nervous and drinking."

She smirked at the comment about other specialties. Still, she nodded. "Living in one place would be nice." She smiled brightly. "It's fine, I don't mind rambling."
