A vast region of the northern half of the continent with trees approaching a kilometer in height with high plateaus creating islands in the sea of green forests.
"I don't know..." he said to the Chiss. "Just want to focus on the mission here, one at a time. Whatever your motivation, you are here now doing what the Republic does best."
"Oh, right, right..." she said in a concession at first as they slowly trudged along. "Just wondering if it ever gets not busy enough around here where you actually...might think about the future."
“I guess so, maybe I will go into Military intelligence, I like slicing. Information gathering seems like a fun field, ma’am,” he responded with a cough.
“Far cry from what my parents do, that’s for sure.”
"Slicing for the military? I guess that's a thing..." She inclined her head once. "I don't know why it should bother you whether or not you're following in your parent's footsteps. I don't think my parents would have ever ventured this far to get sick in a jungle...Actually, I bet they're pretty cushy right now. Cushy doesn't sound bad about now..."
Teffa sighed softly, not really wanting to talk about herself but what was some random stranger in the woods going to tell someone anyway? At least, she couldn't find a reason to care at the moment. "They're kind of glorified salespeople...I guess that's not really telling much about them but they're pretty connected with a lot of important people and not needing to be in direct politics either. Kinda a far throw from space trucker..."
She gave a shrug of her shoulders. "...I suppose someone who moves a large load of stuff but instead of using a surface vehicle, they carry their load through space. Anyway, I suppose just a term I hear around the spaceports where freighters are usually docked."
She gave a long pause as the continued the long slog back to the base. "...Now that I think about it, It doesn't seem to make much sense. Sorry, I guess I'm kind of new at this."
Teffa suppressed a groan that was bothering her shoulders and it was getting tiring to walk, talk and carry too. She stood upright for a moment, trying to look proud and seasoned, before slowly slouching back again. "Ayep, freighting and a tough business filled with sleepless night, unrealistic demands, tight deadlines and so much uncertainty about the destination...but somebody brave has to do it. I guess that's where people like me come in!"
He had to admit that sounded rather exciting and romantic, “I envy you, you can do whatever you want, go where you want and see so much of the galaxy.”
Teffa let out a brief chuckle, perhaps more impressed at herself that she managed to make her current job sound interested. "No anywhere I want, just wherever the shipment is going and wherever to collect my moment. I suppose, as a result, I only get to see a good number of cargo holds...This particular gig is just different than my usual ones."
She grunted as she exerted herself with getting on the lift, then held out her hand to offer help. "Thanks, are you getting on?"
Teffa slumped down for a seat at the floor of the elevator. It wasn't elegant but she did just endure a long trek in the forest while suffering from a fever. Sure that formalities weren't going to be an issue around here. "Glad you could help there...guess I'll be owing you a drink someday if we ever run into each other in a less awkward spot."
